Best TV Series Finales?

What TV series has had the best finale?

Marsh. 07-05-2013 12:39 PM

I'm not usually a fan of the vast majority. A lot are too sappy and cheesy.

I like dark endings. Or at least bittersweet.

Six Feet Under

MTVN 07-05-2013 12:47 PM

Posted this in a thread like this before but this remains the greatest ending to a series ever

lostalex 07-05-2013 12:54 PM

Roseanne is the only finale that made me cry, so i vote for that.

Spoiler:

"he's still the first thing I think about when i wake up, and the last thing i think about before i go to sleep"

When it shows Dan's empty chair, I cry every time. It really shows how lonely Roseanne really is, and this show is great for lonely people, because Roseanne understands what loneliness really feels like.

It's my favorite mainstream show.

I hope so, I hate when I'm un happy with an ending of a TV series I loved *cough*Lost*cough*

Locke. 07-05-2013 02:21 PM

Lost. A lot of people didn't like it but I always cared more about the characters than the mythology anyway, so I thought it was brilliant and a really fitting end.

Friday Night Lights had a great ending aswell.

I think it will, it hasn't let me down so far, fingers crossed anyway. I really hope I'm happy with the end of Dexter this year too

The Wonders years - The Independence day scene was perfect and then it finished with the greatest quote ever

" Things never turn out exactly the way you planned. I know they didn't with me. Still, like my father used to say, 'Traffic's traffic, you go where life takes you' and growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers, the next you're gone, but the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a time a place, a particular fourth of July, the things that happened in that decade of war and change. I remember a house like a lot of houses, a yard like a lot of yards, on a street like a lot of other streets. I remember how hard it was growing up among people and places I loved. Most of all, I remember how hard it was to leave. And the thing is, after all these years I still look back in wonder. "

Frasier's finale to this day destroys me and makes me a snivelling wreck.

Also loved the finales to The Office (UK), The Sopranos, Blackadder and Beautiful People.

This wasn't the last ever episode but That Mitchell and Webb Look had a really surprisingly powerful and poignant sketch at the end of one (I think it was the last one actually ) series.

If we're on about endings then I've only liked Battlestar Galactica's (Ron Moore's version) ending.
