Skint (New Docu) Ch4HD Monday 9pm
"Provocative and revealing documentary stories
of how people survive without work" http://www.channel4.com/programmes/skint 1 of 4 http://www.freeview.co.uk/wp-content...5/51295499.jpg "Dean used to work at the steelworks in Scunthorpe, but now he, his wife and their seven children and stepchildren get by on benefits. Dean is a guide to his world, where being out of work is nothing out of the ordinary, where people do what they can to survive and where keeping your kids on the straight and narrow is a challenge. On Dean's estate, the film follows the shoplifter who sells stolen deodorant on the cheap and a 15-year-old boy who has been excluded from seven different schools. For them and many others across the country, this is what it means to be skint." Feck me its a real life Shamless |
Really looking forward to this, will get the mail readers foaming no doubt haha!
|
It will just end up like all the other documentaries about Council Estates.

Yes Criminal in it It may go Front Page Outrage |
Depends on what your definition of a criminal is... there's some front page stats on expenses thieves today, doesn't have the same ring to it as 'benefit scrounger' or 'council scum' though does it?
As with most fly on the wall documentaries it will be warts and all with any luck, so all us dirty voyeurs will get to stick our noses in the festering sore that is inner city living in the UK and pretend we are morally superior for an hour. |

Sure there are Criminals everyplace. It will make a change and 3 one hours on Ch4HD |

9PM Tonight
Ch4 and Ch4HD |
On Now
|
They've set the scene in the first ten minutes with 17 kids living in one house LMAO. These guys are hilarious.
|
I feel sorry for that Mother
of conor |
Well that was depressing
|
I'm watching this on channel 4+1.
|
Watching on +1, it's actually quite sad... :/
|
It's really sad. These people are really struggling. I wish i could help. :(
|
Not as good as the other one that was on not so long back. The voiceover is really annoying too.

Yes the Voiceover problem maybe a lady would have been better |
Those people were extremes. Definitely not indicative of the unemployed. The kid who was violent and abusive acted like he relished the camera on him. I wonder if he's that 'full on' all the time. I felt sorry for his mother but doubt how much of his behaviour was for the cameras.
C4 have struck gold with this show. The reviews have been hilarious so far and it'll certainly get middle England talking. Cant wait for the rest of the series |
Girth Great Points.
|
I felt so sorry for the drug addicted lady. I hope she gets the help she needs. She's still young and can turn her life around. :(
|
Channel 4 are really churning out any old tosh these days. I knew exactly what to expect though, they pretty much filled all the stereotypes there is.
|
I watched it. And people say Americans are trash because of Honey Boo Boo? This show has far more trash than the Honey Boo Boo show.
That being said, I still enjoyed the show. I found it very interesting and a bit sad. I did empathize with some of the characters. |
This is basically the English version of The Scheme
|
'characters' lol
I imagine the 17 children thing will be picked up on by the tabloids (and probably...rightly so), but this is basically what 75% of people I know back home have to do. |
