No doubt to leave with Jack, since he's leaving at the end of the year.

Think they need to wrap her story up properly. Have her leave the square for good, with Jack and a baby bump.

Samantha Womack heading back to 'Eastenders'!
 

Walford is set to get a shock returnee when Ronnie Mitchell heads back to Eastenders, it has been confirmed. Samantha Womack, who played the popular character from 2007 to 2011 has signed a new six-month contract which will see the character return to Albert Square.

Ronnie’s exit saw her being jailed for snatching Tommy Moon, the tot of neighbour Kat (Jessie Wallace) after she switched him with her dead baby James on News Year’s Eve when she realised that her newborn had passed away in a storyline that attracted a lot of controversy.

As she is ready to be released from prison, Ronnie will make the difficult decision to return to Walford, knowing that she isn’t in for an easy ride especially from her husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen). However, she will be reunited with sister Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) who will be delighted to have her sister back.

Speaking about the unexpected return, actress Samantha Womack said: ”I am thrilled to be returning to the role of Ronnie for the next six months. Ronnie is coming out of prison and her reappearance in the Square is going to create havoc. I can’t wait to be a Mitchell once again!”

Meanwhile, the show’s series producer Lorraine Newman added: ”We’re delighted to announce Samantha Womack’s return to Albert Square. The Mitchell sisters are a fabulous pairing and it will be an absolute delight to have Ronnie and Roxy back together on screen. However, Ronnie’s departure wasn’t without controversy for many residents in Walford, and her return will be sure to ruffle quite a few feathers.”
Show bosses have teased that Ronnie’s return in summer is part of a big summer and autumn for the show which will see the arrival of a number of faces, new and old who will shake things up in Walford.

Brilliant news. I liked Ronnie despite the awful baby swapping storyline, it makes sense for Ronnie to come back and see Roxy, potentially leave with Jack when he goes?

Kat and Alfie will have a lot to say about her return. I think Ronnie's return will be a bit happier this time, as SW said the constant depressing storylines were draining and I think she probably insisted to the producers before agreeing to return that they go easy on her this time.

Brillant glad the character Ronnie is back on the show! Hope she is given more happy storyline for once!

The sixth month contract could be renewed. The initial contract doesn't really mean that she's back to wrap things up. Producers could love her return and Sam might want to say.

She does love the show, so I would not be surprised if they renew it and rebuild the Mitchell empire.

Barbara Windsor said she was tempted to return recently too?

Not that I've liked Ronnie since Danielle passed but she'll be the best of a bad bunch for sure.
