The death of Abercrombie & Fitch...

So the owner of A&F (American clothing brand, has a flagship store in London known for its obnoxiously loud music, dark rooms and topless male greeters) came under fire lately for saying that he doesn't want uncool people, ugly people, or women of a larger nature, wearing his clothes.

The internet being the internet, this happens~

always hated the brand, although their fragrance 'Fierce' smells really nice. Wouldn't mind stores like theirs and Hollister going out of business though - overpriced, bland clothing in a horrible, nauseating sales environment.

meh, it's a nice idea, but i don't think it'll change anything, I don't shop there, but there's always gonna be idiots who do because of the brand

at the same time, this whole campaign is really demeaning to the homeless. As though their hatred of his comments has just spawned more hate speech. "HAHAHA LOOK, THE POOR PEOPLE ARE TAINTING YOU", per se.

I had a hollister rant on twitter the other week when there was the news about AandF, having no idea that hollister was AandF

hate that place, pretentious wank

Hollister is great for full Tracksuits tbh. Got a few of them. No A&F though.

But it's 75% of my closet...

Hollister is A&F? Can't stand Hollister, filled with such up their own arse wankers.

It's like Hollister. It's so horrible shopping in there. This video is great though

I'm too old to wear A&F anyway. I always cringe when i see anyone over 25 wearing A&F clothing.

A&F is supposed to be for athletic university students.

This whole blow-up is funny for me because I actually work at Abercrombie in New York. I personally don't like the store much, but I genuinely think it's a very clever marketing campaign to be selective. I always feel bad though when someone fat comes in and I have to tell them that we don't sell XL clothes and stuff :p

Yeah I mean as far as marketing goes, making your product seem exclusive definitely sparks interest in it because I think people who are excluded by it get outraged and then people who are 'allowed' to buy the product then feel compelled to do so just because they can, it works on that level but then I can't think of any companies who are as blatant and as offensive about it as A&F. I mean you get the whole fancy car thing where you have to have the money to drive one, and you have tongue in cheek things like Yorkie chocolate and whatever, but A&F goes beyond that and I think it is a very pompous clothing company and I do take a dislike to people who dress themselves in their clothing. I have an A&F shirt. That's fine. But when you see people wearing A&F joggers and A&F hoodies and A&F socks in combination and all the time, you just kind of assume that the person wearing it is representative of what the company stands for.
