People who have had their appendix out (help)
I have suspected appendicitis and am just waiting for a spare bed before going into hospital.
I have Skyes christening on Sunday. Am I likely to be out in time for it? I would have thought so as apparently they do keyhole surgery which sounds like you would be pretty much in and out. But I mentioned to the doctor I saw today about the christening and he said I may have to cancel :bored: How long were you, or people you know, in hospital after getting yours/theirs out? |
My best friend was out in 48 hours I think Vicky but she was pretty sore for a few days...I think you would probably be ok for Sunday but would have to sit down through it....as you may struggle holding Skye whilst you're stood up just through soreness..

Gavs gunna be holding her anyway because I hate being centre of attention  |
Wishing you a speedy recovery vicky!

Thanks kizzy..I'm wishing myself a speedy recovery too..or for this to be a misdiagnosis

I still have mine, but i've been with plenty of guys that have the tell tale scar. From what I understand it's a fairly common surgery. Nothing to worry about. I think scars are sexy.

Cheers for that omah. I would have googled it myself but whenever I google medical stuff I freak myself out by reading the horror stories and always convince myself that I am going to die

Oh, hopefully a misdiagnosis :bawling: Take care Vicky.
|
From reading what omah posted..even if it was a misdiagnosis..it seems they may operate anyway. As even the slightest chance of it being appendicitis is acted upon
I guess though, at least I will know I wont have problems with it in the future. About 1/10 people get it at some point in their lives apparently. Its just very very bad timing. I wouldnt usually care about having an op. |

Yeah probably best to have it out anyway even if you don't have appendicitis, one of my friends had his burst and he said it was the most unbearable pain he'd ever felt.. hope that helps :)
|
Glad the pain is managable and am not in total agony or anything. hospital still havent rang back. You people...get the **** out of my bed!!!! :joker:
|
That's the spirit, Vicky. Operation will go smoothly and good luck for Skye's Christening on Sunday. Congratulations! |
I was going to ask what the pain is like, constant or coming and going? what did they give you co codamol?
|
Gave me nothing for pain, but its gone now anyway...
Gotta go in now and take overnight bag :bored: |
I forgot to mention that I have no idea about appendix. I hope this keyhole surgery will be successful.
