Im torn on this i think everyone was glad to see the crackdowns on badger baiting and for it to be made illegal to wilfully kill a badger in the early 90's but there are consequences to that.
Hunting badgers for hundreds of years in the uk wasnt entirely just for fun it was done to keep numbers down and for food if numbers are now so high they are causing problems spreading disease, killing cats, dogs and causing a threat to the hedgehog population then they have to be culled at some point and i would rather see that done in a controlled manner with the minimum of suffering. A lot of the people that object to these things live in city's and have probably never seen a badger in the wild and just see this: http://www.funkypigeon.com/Bears/1_B...dger_TEDDY.jpg The same goes for foxes as far as im concerned. If it needs to be done then at least it will be done as clinically as possible you cant have it both ways. P.S. Marcus i think Dan Bull is amazing i love his music! but he is wrong on this one as far as im concerned just another city dweller that see's a cute cartoon animal when he thinks of badgers. |
But look what they did in Ireland
