16 Housemates- The right amount?

I'm so glad it's 16 this year.

Definitely think it's the perfect amount.

Let's look at the numbers-

BB1- 10
BB2- 10
BB3- 12
BB4- 12
BB5- 12
BB6- 13
BB7- 14
BB8- 11 (+1 on day 2) <--- Mess
BB9- 16
BB10- 16
BB11- 14
BB12- 14
BB13- 16

See I think the more the better on Launch night- it gives more chance for storylines and great housemates to develop. Poorer series at the start have had fewer housemates on Launch most notably BB8. Coincidentally my two favourite series [excluding BB7], BB9 and BB10 have both had 16 housemates on Launch. My hope's are now high for Thursday/Friday.

But will we see 8 enter on Thursday and 8 on Friday is yet to be seen!

I think sixteen is probably the best number if you want groups forming early on.

16 is perfect - and if they wanted to add another bunch as part of a twist (EARLY ON IN THE SERIES) I'm not a fan of housemates coming in half way through, then they could put another 4 in bringing the total up to 20.

Thing is though, with limited live streaming - it could be hard to keep track of 20 housemates.

I was watching a Highlight Show from BB13 last night, and it made me realise how much camera time is devoted to certain HMs if the others aren't doing anything.

20's too many, 16's pushing it. Remember, it's only 9 weeks now, we don't want a rushed ten housemate final.

Oh yeah - forgot about that.

Last year we had 16?

I thought it was lower.

ruiphillips 10-06-2013 04:48 PM

Yes. It's perfect, not too much or too little.

Lowkey 10-06-2013 04:50 PM

16 is perfect.

fruit_cake 10-06-2013 04:52 PM

16 is a good number

james130 10-06-2013 05:42 PM

I think 6 & 7 had a perfect set of housemates and recon 14'd be a better number. Especially as it's so short in comparison. 16's a good amount but would like them to start with 13 then maybe stick 3 in.

EddyEagal 10-06-2013 06:19 PM

16 is the perfect number :D There were 16 housemates in BB10, and that's without a doubt, my favourite BB series to date. I'm hoping that BB14 will be my new favourite, but it's doubtful.

swinearefine 10-06-2013 06:20 PM

I'd prefer less to start off with, just because I want late entrants.

ahopkins 10-06-2013 06:51 PM

This may sound crazy but I think 10 house mates is good to start off with then throw in 1 person every 2 weeks to make it a regular thing and the public vote between 2 people to send in so there are 15 house mates in total.

X2

Raph 10-06-2013 07:13 PM

yep it's the perfect number

Too many especially now its shorter than ever.
To be averaging nearly 2 evictions a week is dumb.
It all gets either too rushed chucking them out before we get to know them or too many in the final week which makes the evictions up to that point almost meaningless as they were just deadwood anyway and the only meaningful evictions occur in the last night/few days.

BBDodge 10-06-2013 07:22 PM

I wouldn't want more.

How do you know it's only 9 weeks?

reece(: 10-06-2013 09:14 PM

16 + a wildcard like last year would be good.

aj2463 10-06-2013 09:20 PM

I think 14 would have been better with 2 or 3 more entering a week or two later.. also, are all 16 entering on launch night one?
