Is civillian BB only on for 9 weeks?

I just saw someone say on this forum that it was only on for 9 weeks. Why have they changed it from the usual 10 weeks followed by 3 weeks of CBB. Does this means we'll get 4 weeks of CBB instead?

Or is this just all a silly little rumour?

I only asked this question because I saw Sid post this:

Sid is usually reliable, so...

From what Rylan said on Loose Women, he said the civilian would run for 13 weeks - but he means the whole thing I think.

He said Civilian runs until the end of August, with a few days break then CBB. So all in all, it kinda works out about 9 weeks for BB, few days break, start of CBB for about 3.5 weeks.

I thought it was 10 :(

Because the producers think that ****ing dullard Loose Women and ex boyband members and models nobody has ever even heard of are more worthy of airtime.

Big Brother only used to run for 9 weeks back in the day anyway.

BB3 the most successful to date ran 9 weeks but felt ages.

After that it begins to get stale so perfect I think.

Assuming the civilian series does run until the end of August as Rylan said, the last Wednesday is the 28th (if CBB launches on the Friday), and that'll actually be one day short of 11 weeks. Which although is not the 13 I wish we could return to, I would settle for.

If it's 9 and they've extended their precious CBB I'll be so pissed off.

I would prefer 9/10 weeks with NO summer CBB, it seems so pointless just stuck on the end taking the shine off BB :(

I don't have a problem with it being 9 weeks, as like you've said, some of the best series are the shorter ones, but it's just that we wait sooooo long for BB to come around every year and then it's all over after just over 2 months. Then again, just over 2 months is quite long so it's not too bad I guess. If they've done this to extend CBB then I will be very mad.

That's good to know, I hope it means that it actually is 11 weeks and not 9. Especially with supposedly 16 housemates going in, it would be pretty hard to get out 10-12 of them out within 8 weeks to have a 6 or 5 person final, unless they have countless double evictions.

Probably true.

13 is too long for me, BB7 dragged towards the end. 10 weeks ish is about right

Lowkey 10-06-2013 04:54 PM

The longer the better.

fruit_cake 10-06-2013 04:55 PM

If it were up to me it'd be on all year round so the more weeks the better

Me. I Am Salman 10-06-2013 04:58 PM

****ing better be 10 weeks at the very least

smeagol 10-06-2013 05:08 PM

cant believe they are doin another celeb one a few days after this ends.
dont they know saturation kills shows. and its totally unfair to the winners and runners up on this one.
if they want fame they are better of being evicted half way these days

Jack_ 10-06-2013 05:09 PM

In all honesty if BB's been cut back and CBB has been extended I am so tempted not to watch CBB12, it's a joke.

ThisIsNickkk 10-06-2013 05:11 PM

CBB will need to run for 3 weeks at the least I would say, so that leaves 10 weeks for BB, but there's going to be a couple of days break inbetween according to Rylan, so on saying that, the main series will run for just over 9 weeks?

We've not been officially told though, just going off what others have said about 9 weeks so far and the fact Rylan said 13 weeks?

Macie Lightfoot 10-06-2013 05:14 PM

9-10 weeks is the ideal amount. If BB13 lasted 13 weeks it certainly would've been dreadful by the end, especially since Deana wouldn't last the whole way.

Headie 10-06-2013 05:37 PM

Like I said before, I don't have an issue with 9 weeks of BB, but with supposedly 16 housemates going in, it will mean a hell of a lot of double evictions and I can't be doing with that this year!

Samm 10-06-2013 06:17 PM

If they want to do a CBB then they should do it in September It is annoying because soon the is going to be more celebrity big brother then there is going to be normal big brother

swinearefine 10-06-2013 06:19 PM

I'd prefer 10-11 weeks, BB5 and BB6 were the perfect lengths.
