Why does Sallie think she's a 'tomboy'

She's nothing like a tomboy....at least not the ones I've known in my time.

Does she have short hair....no
Does she hate make up....no
Does she wear boys clothes....no
Does she call herself a boy's name (ala George in the famous five)....no
Does she talk about boyish things like sports....no

about the only thing I can think of is that she 'claims' to be a DJ. Not that that is something particularly masculine anyway...

so in conclusion...Sallie doesn't really know who she is, she's not even the most tomboyish in the house seems to me.

Also she's a grown woman. Not a 12 year old girl.

It's hard to believe she's actually 26 years old.

tom boy just means not being lady like. drinking smoking getting on with guys more than girls

tom·boy (tmboi)
n.
A girl considered boyish or masculine in behavior or manner.
a girl who acts or dresses in a boyish way, liking rough outdoor activities
an energetic or awkward girl whose behavior and pursuits are considered typical of boys.

But hazel smokes and drinks and gets on with guys better than boys but she isn't a tomboy lmfao.
I think sallie is jus farcing it abit too much imo. Needs to tone it down.

Gillian-73 16-06-2013 10:15 AM

The meaning of a tomboy seems to have changed since I was a young girl!

Kizzy 16-06-2013 10:18 AM

She wears trainers!...... duh! ;)

mr rochester 16-06-2013 10:19 AM

...Sallie has a knack of telling people who she is - i.e I'm a really nice person, I am this - I am that...I think people will decide who she is rather than accepting her judgement of who she thinks she is.

I have said this in another thread; You seldom hear the words Tomboy and Mother in the same sentence...do you..?

GiRTh 16-06-2013 10:32 AM

The real reason is probably insecurity.

lol...I'm wearing trainers as we speak..but tomboy I am NOT!

Tregard 16-06-2013 10:56 AM

It's a label she can easily attach to herself so she can play up to a role rather than display her own identity fully.

mizzy25 16-06-2013 11:08 AM

armand.kay 16-06-2013 11:10 AM

Great post. I agree.

Agree. I've mulled over this and I think she is trying to portray a multi-tude of past BB characters. She wants to be like Shabby/ Nicola/ insiders club etc.

Eventually her true desperado self will come to the fore;) - she wants to be on a reality show.......

Yayita 16-06-2013 11:45 AM

She looks terrible, I want her out first!

Marsh. 16-06-2013 11:50 AM

I think we all know why she doesn't get on with girls.

Not because she's a tomboy, because of the green eyed monster.

Razor 16-06-2013 11:59 AM

Tomboy my arse, Sallie just seems fake to me. I normally find the people that bang on about how 'real' others are, are normally not real themselves.

She seems close to Hazel. Arguably the best looking girl in the house.

I actually really like Salle as a housemate but the constant reiterating of how "honest", "normal" etc she is is grating on me. It's like when people say "I don't mean to be rude but.." and then proceed to be rude. She is hiding behind a persona at the moment which hopefully she won't be able to sustain 24/7 for long and then we will see the real Sallie...

I agree, I don't think she is insecure about her looks too much. She seems very comfortable in her own skin. She is possibly envious of Ginas money but nothing else.

That doesn't work when you consider her non relationship with Gina.
