Recommend some films for me to watch

THE RULES

1. No gangster films
2. No Football Hooligan films, anything that even vaguely reminds me of Danny Dyer is beneath me.
3. M.Night Shyamalan is the devil and I refuse to acknowledge his existence.
4. No Rom Coms that involve Matthew McConaughey or Gerard Butler.
5. Nothing that stars Jennifer Aniston is worth watching.
6. Recommending anything that has the tagline 'From the makers of Scary Movie' will earn you my deepest scorn.
7. No crappy Torture Porn films like Saw or shock flicks like The Human Centipede or A Serbian Film, viewing Tibb is often enough horror for one day.

Oooh I remember wanting to watch The New World a while back, I'll put that down on my list along with Mockingbird and The Apartment. I remember you showing me a clip of Hedwig and it was insane so I might have to check it out.

Tom4784 18-06-2013 07:45 PM

I've seen True Romance and I've been meaning to watch Looper *notes it down*

Niamh. 18-06-2013 07:50 PM

Have you seen Django Unchained yet Dezzy?

Ryan57 18-06-2013 07:56 PM

Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

don't rule out gangster films tbh - Snatch was a film I only saw recently but it was incredibly good.

(also Bruce Almighty stars JA and it's worth watching :hmph:)

I'd suggest Oldboy, Tyrannosaur, The Prestige and Jackie Brown. Dunno if you've seen them though.

Avatar. Love that movie!

Some Gangster films are alright but I just hate most of them, also JA was the worst thing about Bruce Almighty.

I've seen The Prestige and I know of the others and think I might have watched them but I'll note them down anyway.

Moon <3 but I despise Mel Gibson so I have no interest in Apocalypto.

Vanessa 18-06-2013 08:43 PM

I'd suggest The Godfather. I know it's a gangster movie, but it's amazing. :worship:

Arlington Road.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 18-06-2013 10:23 PM

watch hedwig first tbh

its kind of like rocky horror but 1000x better

GypsyGoth 19-06-2013 01:59 AM

You may have seen some of these seven.

Both of these are kinda downbeat, serious movies without much relief. However I found both of them intriguing and well acted

Martha Marcy May Marlene 2011

Take Shelter 2011

Next two are kinda mystery, scifi, weird

Cypher 2002

Dark City 1998

Last one is another strange film, but unforgettable
