Ive watched every episode of every series about 20 times over....its the greatest tv series ever in my humble opinion and he played the greatest part in the greatest tv show ever for many years.

he was real in it, he was authentic, he was natural, very black humoured and funny, he seemed in all his interviews and speeches as very humbled and just real, the whole show was genius , from the writing to the directing to the acting and beyond

he made 50 movies and produced 4.....he did lots of stage work too
I first saw him in true romance as a hit man gone wrong, then 12 angry men with the legendary jack lemmon, get shorty , the Mexican , the Christmas movie with ben Affleck , the last castle and many more

he was a huge bloke with enormous talent and charisma, a very intelligent actor though too

he could have played so many more great roles, he could have done drama, comedy, musicals, he could have played the good guys, the bad guys , the big man , the little man anything really

the world has lost the greatest tv actor ever and what seemd to be a genuine warm talented unique person

It's scary how sudden it can be. yea he was out of shape, but he didn't look unhealthy really. He looked like he carried his weight well. Looks can be deceiving though I guess.

hard to judge exactly how healthy a person is by looking at them.....James gandolfini was always a huge man, it says he weighed close to 20 stones and stood at 6 foot 1
he did seem to carry it well though.....clearly he worked very hard with such a vast workload and the pressure that goes with it.

Its weird but sometimes you know a person regardless if you never meet them or whether they live 10,000 miles away.....he was my kind of people, a normal ,regular , modest, unpretentious hard working talented star, totally unchanged by fame yet very natural.....Id love to have got drunk with this guy....I avoid pretentious fake social climbers who judge by appearance and materialistic stuff.....but I admired this man not for any materialistic reasons, but for the quality of his character and for his remarkable hard work and talent

They'll be rewatching and talking about tony soprano is 50 years time, his influence over tv will be as great as marlon brandos on movie acting

Ammi 20-06-2013 02:46 AM

..this is such a shock, I'm stunned...RIP...

Shaun 20-06-2013 02:59 AM

aaaagh I hope he doesn't just get remembered as one character (however great and pivotal it was), he was amazing in In the Loop, Killing Them Softly & Where the Wild Things Are

yeah 50 movies and umpteen broadway plays is one heck of a workload for a man aged 51....the last castle was cracking too....as was true romance , 12 angry men, get shorty , the Mexican to name but a few

lostalex 20-06-2013 03:48 AM

he was a beast of a man in the greatest ways possible.

Goodnight sir.

if he had any ?
they were the wrong amount.

Massive Heart Attack

Vanessa 20-06-2013 05:29 AM

I do like his movies as well, like True Romance for example. But The Sopranos is just something really special.

lostalex 20-06-2013 05:31 AM

I don't know why this thread makes me cry so much, i'm not even a big sopranos fan.

maybe because he looks a bit like my dad.

Vanessa 20-06-2013 05:33 AM

:bawling:He was very talented. I've always loved his work.
