I thought it was compulsory for housemates to go into the diary room everyday?

Dan said today on live feed he hasn't gone in a couple of days... He said he doesn't like it in there because he hates the chair

GypsyGoth 20-06-2013 01:01 AM

Nope, sometimes they don't get to go in for ages, like a week or more.

Josy 20-06-2013 01:06 AM

I have never known it to be compulsory to go to the DR

Jords 20-06-2013 01:21 AM

If I was a HM Id probably go 2-3 times a day, something to do!

The Diary Room is the only place in the House where Big Brother will engage in a conversation with you. Visits to the Diary Room are compulsory.
I just assumed this ment housemates had to go every day :/

I do find it funny that dan haes the diary room, it shows how important the design of it is, if it isn't comfortable and welcoming than housemates don't feel comfortable venting and talking in there :/

The DR was no doubt used a lot more in the past, but then they started making it much harder to get in. This started happened from perhaps the last CH4 series. Might have been part of cost cutting. On CH5 things have become even more manipulated and some DR are even just used for HM narration (like the American version). The days when they had a program dedicated to it (DR Uncut) have long gone.

Yes, It's only compulsory to go when called to do so by BB.

Marcus. 20-06-2013 07:51 AM

wow you learn something everyday

Dash Darington 20-06-2013 07:52 AM

The chair is terrible. Looks like a torture device. I wouldn't want to go in there either.

Marcus. 20-06-2013 07:53 AM

i like the chair

GypsyGoth 20-06-2013 07:58 AM

I love lamp

joeysteele 20-06-2013 07:58 AM

I don't think the chair looks good this year myself.
I think I would, if a housemate, try to keep away from the diary room, little is ever resolved if there is a problem anyway.

Benjamin 20-06-2013 10:53 AM

The chair doesn't look comfy. Previous chairs you lounge on them and lie on it and talk to BB. This one looks like if you move the wrong body part you'll end up with a massive gash somewhere or a broken toe.

Sam:) 20-06-2013 11:23 AM

Im nearly sure that you needed to visit at least once a day for 5 minutes

MrWong 20-06-2013 11:29 AM

It's only compulsory if you're asked.

Bobby CBB said he wouldn't be asked in for days whereas the paparazzie guy with the fake abs was asked in 2 or 3 times a day.

Yes...but the OP meant he thought they had to visit the DR everyday whether called or not.

*mazedsalv** 20-06-2013 12:11 PM

I'd be in the DR around twice or more a day. Something to do. But I guess people don't like it... I have never seen Dan in there and Hazel only once (last nights show when she spoke about Dexter).

But some people go in there a lot.

ThisIsNickkk 20-06-2013 01:00 PM

Its right, if the diary room was welcoming and comfy, the housemates would go in more, possibly more bitching and backstabbing, but nobody wants to go in at the moment aside from Michael as he has to and the twins to complain about food.

It used to be more important but the producers really don't care about it anymore. It's just for HMs to say what the producers want (for the narration) or for them to receive warnings.
