Have you ever taken an instant dislike to someone...

..either in real life or maybe the internet, you might never have spoken to someone but for some inexplicable reason, you just can't warm to them..?...

Cherie 26-06-2013 06:35 AM

Yes, in both.

Jake. 26-06-2013 08:45 AM

Yup.. Though I attempt to not judge people on first impressions, we all do

Yes, I admit that I have. I feel like an awful person for admitting that :( but can't help that I sometimes have done that, it's a trait I am not proud of in myself.

Livia 26-06-2013 12:19 PM

All the time. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. If I don't like you immediately, I probably never will.

joeysteele 26-06-2013 12:24 PM

Yes, but if I have I counter balance that thought with still leaving the door open as to giving them the benefit of the doubt until they do or really say something against me or someone else that is unfair and unjustified or cruel.

Only then would I put my first dislike into full operation. The same as I would though with anyone I had known or liked before too.
I do think first impressions are important though.

anyone who is better looking than me

I hate a lot of people

Niamh. 26-06-2013 12:28 PM

I'm terrible with first impressions, I'm usually completely wrong as well. Alot of times I've disliked people who turned out to be lovely and liked people who turned out to be arseholes

Benjamin 26-06-2013 12:30 PM

Yes, in both. It's funny too because some of the people online/real life who I didn't get on with at first have gone on to become some of my better friends who I like the most.

Agree. I reckon I can tell if I'm gonna like someone by speaking to them for less than 5 minutes. I also reckon I get it right 95% of the time. I can live with the 5% of time I get it wrong.

Tom4784 26-06-2013 12:35 PM

Not in day to day life, no. Yes when it comes to the internet though.

LikeABoatOnWater 26-06-2013 12:38 PM

Yep. One time there was just something about this guy that I hated, but one of my friends was his friend so i got to know him, somewhere along the line move in with him, worse decision of my life, always trust your instincts.

Vicky. 26-06-2013 12:39 PM

All the time

hijaxers 26-06-2013 12:46 PM

Yes, bus journey's are the worst, there will always be a ******* I'd love to throw into traffic on them.

Ammi 26-06-2013 01:14 PM

..I think it happens to most people, I don't know why that is but I always think that if you don't warm to someone, you won't then be looking at them objectively so you're always going to feel that you are proved right in your initial feelings because you'll only really see their flaws and overlook their good points and we all have nice things and irritating things, well most people do..so you're always going to think that you have a good intuition/perception of people but maybe you haven't really given them a fair and equal chance...

You should be a writer, the words you use and the way you use them are generally so balanced and totally fair.

Just a book full of your thoughts and thinking as to your take on people, the World and things in general would be inspirational to so many people and I really do mean all that.
