..yeah, me as well Vanessa and it's always a bit spooky because I hadn't thought about it for a long time and then I think it came up in wanna's 'top 5' thread and was on TV last night..I always think that sort of thing is a strange coincidence...

just watched Iron Man 3... somehow even better than the first two. They're improving with every movie. 8/10.

The Pursuit of Happiness - Really loved this film, 9/10

Shelter. I don't really know what to say about it, on the one hand I thought the characters were all pretty terrible people but that's why the film was quite compelling to watch. The sister deciding to abandon her child so she could move with her new boyfriend across the country was hard to watch, but then watching her reaction to finding out that her brother (who she was going to leave the boy with) was now in a gay relationship and she didn't want them to bring him up made it quite interesting to see whether her homophobic albeit maternal instincts would kick in or if she'd take the selfish path but let her brother live a happy life with his boyfriend and her son...

It's not a particularly exciting film but the last fifteen minutes or so make it totally worthwhile for the above scenario. You basically just sit through the rest of the film watching the brother "fight his gay feelings" and the sister be a terrible parent.

What did you think of the sister's decision? I hated her throughout the film  pretty good actress, she was the right combination of insensitive and manipulative!

I haven't! I'll look it up next time I'm bored and wanting to watch a film! The romance was quite nice but I got annoyed with Zach for being so infuriating. Sean was lovely!

Smiley (2012)- Pretty decent slasher, basically candyman but on the internet. Some funny moments but the ending kinda annoyed me. I pretty much guessed the ending but it made no sense why it happened. It was kinda cruel. Makes it look like a sequel might be out soon, so look forward to that as it might help understand the first film more.

This Is The End 8/10
It was pretty funny with a lot of 'laugh till you cry' moments. The Exorcism of Jonah Hill... :joker:
Probably not quite as good as The Heat or This Is 40, but one of the best comedies this year.

Shaun 18-10-2013 05:03 AM

also watched that :suspect:

loved it. Just for the number of cameos

Man of Steel 9/10

Seriously great superhero film. Not quite on par with The Dark Knight/TDKR, but this is much less dark. Great storyline, acting and visual effects. Loved it
