Pierce Brosnon's daughter has died from ovarian cancer...

Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte has died from ovarian cancer, aged 42.

She had battled the disease for three years, but died on Friday afternoon.

"On June 28 at 2pm my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, her children Isabella and Lucas and her brothers Christopher and Sean," read a statement from Brosnan.

“Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity.

“Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon.

"We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”

Her mother, the Australian actress Cassandra Harris, also died of the disease in 1991 while married to Brosnan, as did Harris's own mother

..his wife Cassandra's mum died of it as well, it's so tragic and I'm not sure how old his granddaughter is but they must fear that she will get the disease as well...as well as the emotional pain he's going through, those thoughts must come into his head also...

There's something deeply unsettling about a parent living longer than a child... Poor woman :(

Terrible for Piers two people he cared greatly for due to the same horrid illness.

Should never have to bury your children.
