Does Jackie sap Charlie's confidence?

I have observed Jackie and Charlie's relationship and have concluded that Charlie would be a much better housemate if Jackie were removed from the equation.

Jackie seems to treat Charlie like she's still a child (maybe that's just a mother thing, maybe we (mums) all do it to a minimal extent, but Jackie seems to be a control freak) She doesn't just do it with Charlie, several other housemates have been on the receiving end, but in Charlie's case there is no escaping, I have seen sparks of defiance from her though, she needs to break free.

If only they made it a vote to save this week, we could actually see Jackie get the boot. Sigh!

Would be interesting to see Bit on the Psych focus on this Mother Daughter relationship and see what the analysts have to say.

Adding a poll to this, to gauge general opinion.

Yep I think if Jackie went this Friday we would see a different Charlie in the house - I'm not a fan of hers but would like to see what she is like without her controlling mother around.

Gillian-73 10-07-2013 12:56 PM

She does. She makes Charlie feel like she can't have a say. Yesterday's highlights a perfect example, Charlie had a point but was shot straight down.

The relationship in the house between those two is always going to be marred by the fact that they are related, in some ways I think it's even unfair to the other housemates.

Having said that if Jackie was to go then Charlie would probably be a bit more liberal around the others.

Yes she does
I find Jackie more fame hungry than her daughter.
Jackie now thinks BB told Posh and Dex to put her up, she so wants to outlast Charlie imo .
I was happy that she broke her wrist as I was getting so bored of her Jazz hands routine .
I was going to vote this week but I have thought better, I don't give a rats behind who goes.

That's a bit harsh. Whatever you think of her surely you can't be happy she hurt herself?

Roy Mars III 10-07-2013 01:04 PM

she's holding her daughter back big time

Marsh. 10-07-2013 01:07 PM

They do it to each other.

Every time Jackie wants to voice her opinion on something Charlie tells her to pipe down.

But I agree, remove one of them and the other one will be very different.

She chose to go in with her mum, if she was going to worry about her mum 24/7 she shouldn't have gone in with her.

I agree. Charlie is so nice. It's good to see her starting to answer her mum back. :worship:

I think it was like that at the beginning, but things have changed. They've started to argue a lot lately.

Wouldn't you if you were trapped in 4 walls with each other 24/7?

erinp5 10-07-2013 01:41 PM

Charlie's wobble happened after Gina and Dexter had her in the DR answering questions that they has set BB,we never got to see the footage but I did read the questions were all about her and her mum in the house .

Day 25: Mum's the word

As one of their many trouble-making tasks, Dexter and Gina have had the opportunity to put some tough questions to Hazel and Charlie, with Big Brother making out that the questions had been sent in by members of the public.

Yesterday, Hazel didn't seem very ruffled by her Diary Room quizzing, but today, after spending quite some time facing the questions from 'the public', Charlie seemed quite fazed.

Her main bone of contention was that three of her questions focused on the presence of one Ms Jackie Travers in the House. The biggest impact was made by Ginxter's clever question: "would you have more fun if your mum wasn't in the House?"

This threw Charlie into a mini tizz, so she took to the safe haven of the treehouse with Dan to talk it over. After a barrage of "oh, I just don't know, I don't know I don't know..." Charlie got real, tackling the question head on:

Charlie- "Probably..."

Dan- "...Maybe"

Charlie- Yes...and no.

Oh, wait, so she didn't really tackle it at all. It fell to Dan to sum it up, putting those analytical skills to good work: "your mum goes to bed before you a lot of the time...I don't think [you would have more fun without Jackie] because your mum has a lot of fun...and she would never judge you for how you are in the House." Charlie agreed.

So, there we go. She wouldn't have more fun. Or she would. Or, wait...we don't know. Maybe we need Dan to help us out here!

I voted no!

I hope Jackie and Charlie will stay on the show for longer as they are my favourite contestants on BB aswell as the twins, Dexter, Sophie and Dan! :)

You don't have many favourites!!

What would you do if they did an upside down eviction and put up Sophie, Charlie and the twins?? :spin:

anne666 10-07-2013 01:46 PM

Yes

Some people have less favourites then me as some are only fans of Gina and Dexter!

Out of the 3 I would pick who is the most funny and entertaining which would be the twins to stay on BB! Then think about weather I wanted Charlie or Sophie to stay on BB too! :D

Haha I was being sarcastic, I think it's good how some people have a few favourites and others have quite a lot. I usually have one or two but they keep changing, In the first week I really liked Wolfy but now I wouldn't want her to win now.

You never know, in a few weeks one or two of them won't be your favourite anymore with the way things keep going.

Sorry I thought maybe you was being funny with me! :)

I think my favourite from the start has been Jackie and the twins!:D Then it was Jackie, Charlie, the twins, Dexter, Sophie and Dan!

Sallie was entertaining and think she went too soon and Michael too (Even through he wasn't a housemate)! :(

Who's your favourite? :D

Yeh I enjoyed Michael's contribution, especially making Dan paranoid!! :joker:

My favourites are usually the least entertaining (Sam and Sophie at the moment) but I have liked Daley and Wolfy in the past though not anymore for obvious reasons!!
