However, if Hazel selectively shares information with Dan, who then presents this information honestly believing it to be the whole story, a more favourable version of events is now made fact by a reliable, trusted source. Noone will now feel comfortable questioning Hazel, noone will ever know about her warning or about the fact she debagged Daley or assaulted him. Only Daley's wrongdoing is acknowledged. When Dan watches it back on leaving, he'll feel a bit used.

Only if he's the sort of scumbag who thinks she was "asking" to have Daley turn dark / intimidating on her for the "crime" of flirting and having banter with him. Which I don't think he is. I hope not, anyway, as he was a police officer. And police officer who viewed that footage and thought "Oh yeah, the slut provoked him, she was just asking for something like this to happen" should not be in the job.
She also told Dan in the treehouse the first day that she slapped Daley and pulled down his boxers, and that she got a warning. Your bias is giving you a selective memory.
Why does she need to reveal all of this? Why does she have to offer up details of something unsettling that happened to her for the other housemates to "review"? Why is everyone so desperate to justify Daley's actions?
I don't know how many times I've said this now but the story has been SO twisted by many people, and NOT by Hazel.
Daley didn't mean to scare her, but he did, accidentally.
Big Brother asked her if she had been scared, and she told the truth and said "yeah, a little bit"
Hazel even said at the time that he probably didn't mean to and it was just play fighting gone too far.
She said the same to Dan.
She has never vilified Daley.
UP UNTIL THIS POINT there was no real blame... Daley made a mistake, that is all. He thought she knew it was a game and was OK. She wasn't. All he needed to do was say "yes I made a mistake, I'm sorry that I scared Hazel". Done, dusted, not a huge deal!
Since then, Hazel still hasn't blamed or vilified Daley. She's even said he didn't deserve to be kicked out.
Daley on the other hand... has been an absolute snivelling guilt-avoiding weasle about the whole thing. "Boo hoo boo hoo she used magic spells on me and made my out of control penis cheat on my girlfriend without me having any way to stop it, and then she brewed up a potion in her cauldron and made me play a too-rough sex game with her in a conspiracy to kick me out!". **** off Daley. Utterly, utterly pathetic.
And yet Hazel still gets the bulk of the blame?? What is WRONG with most people??? It's disgusting. It's actually making me really angry. Thousands of women in these situations are now going to be more scared to tell anyone because hey, Hazel brought it on herself, so why not them? It's an absolute disgrace, and BB / the press giving Daley airtime in order to blame the girl is infuriating. That so many people are buying into it is also completely awful.
So... yeah. If Dan is an idiot he'll feel used. If he's any sort of half decent person, he'll find the footage of the incident even more disturbing than he imagined, and still want to protect his friend from the inevitable negative press she's going to face.
