He actually killed Callum. They replaced Callum with an identical android - living tissue over a metal endoskeleton - because otherwise Dexter would have been ejaculated from the house.
Unfortunately, the Callum android is primitive and whilst it can mimmick everyday human functions, its AI subroutines are ill-equipped to deal with complex human emotions. When Callum-bot attempts to engage in these human interactions, it is prone to glitching, manifesting as:
- Odd facial expressions (many of which betray the synthetic nature of his artificial face, stretching and moving in unrealistic ways)
- Long periods of unbroken eye contact (incorrectly identified as creepy; this is in fact due to key systems rebooting after having crashed)
- Saying strange things as the AI tries to come to terms with its' pseudo-humanity ("Soar, soar Travers, soar as I never can, as I am merely a broken toy")
- Becoming stuck in logic-loops (relentless pursuit of human female "Charlie Travers" despite clear signals that this is pointless)
Big Brother producers basically will go to extremes to make Dexter win. Can't believe they actually built a multi-billion £ robot replacement of Callum. Typical Big Brother
