Dan blaming Gina for Hazel being hated.
 

Day 43: Has Gina swayed the public's perception of Hazel?

Last night Dan aired his concerns about how Gina and Dexter's treatment of Hazel during their time in the Safe House may have affected the public's perception. He reasoned that their decision to choose Hazel for the horrible tasks may have planted a seed in people's mind, especially as, in Dan's opinion, they are popular housemates.

Today Gina decided to challenge this view, feeling that it was unfair to say that she had any hand in tainting Hazel's reputation.

"The public have their own minds. And say if they loved Hazel and then me and Dexter were bitching about her, we could have been hated," she reasoned.

Dan was quick to defend his point of view, stating, "All I was saying is that maybe your thoughts were in the public's mind more because it was over a few days and it wasn't just one day Hazel got bad things to do".

Gina didn't seem too convinced. She argued that for tasks such as the stink bomb challenge, they were forced to choose the most glamorous housemate and unfortunately that was Hazel. She was firm in saying that any public backlash was of her own doing.

"Me and Dexter, we're just normal, average people in this world. We don't have that impact on other's people's decisions".

Not wanting to cause an argument, Dan replied, "I'm just trying to work out why the public dislike Hazel so much, that's all."

Neither party seem convinced with the other's argument, but for now they've decided to agree to disagree on this one.

Seriously nessa. Dan can soar the **** off tommorow.

This is about Dexter and Gina being popular as opposed to Hazel being unpopular. Dan is losing his grasp on reality.

He's deluded man. One day he jumps on Charlie. The next day its callum. Next day its dexter (even tho the word tragic was quite funny) and now hes questioning Ginas antics in the house. Its pisstake.

Dan is just bored I would imagine and he's trying to exercise his brain lol, it is quite an interesting theory to be fair to him, it's not right but interesting none the less

If he knew he was up for eviction he'd keep quiet. :laugh:

Why is he blaming Gina? Does he not think that it could be Hazel herself who has turned the public off her?

It's admirable that Dan is loyal, but it's strategically idiotic to upset the HMs who the public clearly likes the most. Plus, Gina has been really nice to him. Why get her back up?

There is some truth in that, in my opinion.

Gina's obviously popular with the public. The majority of the public are impressionable and will obviously dislike Hazel even more if Gina does.

It wouldn't have helped Hazels case for sure, but she was already hated before they went into the Safe House

This is VERY interesting. By saying this Dan is acknowledging that thoughts can be embedded into others (depending on how they are said). That being so, might it be a possibility that just before noms are due Dan goes around 'embedding thoughts' into other HM's for who to nominate?

hazel is hated because of the whole daley thing. If it wasn't for that she'd be more popular.

Yeah I definitely agree with both of you (Vanessa & Niamh). The whole Daley situation didn't do her any favours.

But I don't think she would be as hated if it wasn't for Gina's blatant dislike for her.

No one is to blame for the public hating Hazel except for Hazel.

Well dan wouldn't know about her being 2faced or care because it's Dan she talks with about the other HMs lol Dan is deluded because he only see's that side it's crazy.

I agree. Before Daley assaulted her, the public was against Hazel. She was viewed as a home-wrecker. She broke the girl-code by openly flirting with someone who has a girlfriend, and female viewers do not like that.

After Daley assaulted her, some viewers were sympathetic. I feel bad for her for what happened to her in the safe house, however, I dislike her as a person, and that won't change just because something bad happened to her.
