How do you cook bacon? [SERIOUSLY]

I've never cooked anything in my life and I wanna like, try and make bacon.

I don't know where to start though. How long does it take? How do you actually do it? Like can you do it in the oven - cus I don't want to fry it :yuk:

Need urgent replies. I'm going to die of hunger.

Niamh. 26-07-2013 03:45 PM

lol grill it if you don't want to fry it, don't put it in the oven

This.

Medium heat under the grill for about 10-15 minutes turning once or until it's crisp enough to your taste.

Difficult question. If you're not very familiar with cooking I wouldn't start with Bacon. It needs too much attention.

Try grilling it till you start to smell it slightly burning. LOL At that point it should be just overcooked. Otherwise I think you'll under cook it which is quite dangerous with Bacon.

Apparently there's a quick technique you can use with a microwave and one of those plates that retains moisture but the bacon stays soft and I wasn't sure if it was cooked right when I tried it once.

I am still here though haha.

This is good advice. Microwaving it wont under cook it if you leave it in for long enough..

Just stick it under the grill and check it every few mins. Keep turning it over.

I don't want to advise it though because it's been that long ago and it was still very soft. I don't want to end up being responsible for someone being food poisoned. :joker:

bacon is dead easy to cook, don't know what's up with you men lol

Oi! I hope you give yourself an infranction for that blatant inflammatory comment!!! ;)

Dont think Bacons too likely to poison you anyway if its a bit undercooked. Everytime I get a breakfast from a restaurant it seems to be not crispy and I have never been ill.

Ah ok, just can't be too careful nowadays though I guess.

Yes. Stick it on one of those George Foreman grills. They cook everything.

Put it under the grill for 5 mins or so, no need to turn it I never have

Got a george foreman grill? Put it in for 10 mins

..I just use a normal sandwich maker..do you have one of those Vicky..?...

Get it in the oven and just keep checking and turning it, and I promise you'll be golden. I presume you only want a bacon sandwich? If you want it as part of a meal then fry it. You'll set your house on fire if you don't know what you're doing with bacon under the grill.

..ahh ok lol..I think there's only one thing to do then, you have to steal your parent's George Foreman...(I nearly typed George Formby for some reason and I think he played a ukulele or something..not the greatest thing to cook bacon on..)...
