When BB14 is over...

I'll genuienly be sad - remember back in the day when a Channel 4 series would end, you'd get that feeling of loss for about a week after it?

You wouldn't really know what to do at 9/10PM and the time you would of spent talking about the events in the house, would suddenly become free - and there's just an empty void in your daily routine?

That's how it's going to be.

Such a brilliant series, regardless of what happened tonight.

Also (to save me having to make another thread), one of the big factors that have made this series a success [apart from more live streaming] is Emma. It's so brilliant being able to look forward to an eviction night, all week I was so pumped for tonight's eviction, when Dowling was hosting, I'm sure I'm not the only one who lost all interest in the evictions altogether and wanted them to be over and done with?

Emma is just perfect.

Tonight was **** but exciting at the same time. This series has been amazing so far, I just hope we get a great winner from it i.e Gina or Dexter.

Whether this series beats last years is going to rest solely on the finalists and the eventual winner

If Sam or Sophie wins, I'm out and it's gonna go way down in my estimations. If they make the final along with the twins, I'm gonna struggle to rate it above BB13. If Dexter or Gina win, it beats last year easily. That's how I'm gonna decide because the two are so close at the minute.

It's been a good series on the whole, but as usual the eviction pattern (which hasn't been helped by you know what) has slowly but surely started the destruction.

I agree about Emma though, it wasn't that I *hated* Brian the way other people did, I was just...indifferent about him hosting and his shows. He occasionally made me laugh, but I never felt at ease whilst he was presenting...and that sounds really weird I know but I felt like I had to constantly judge his presenting skills (especially in the early days) and assess whether he was doing a good job? Like watching his eyes on the autocue, the way he read the script, his composure during difficult interviews etc etc, I felt like I was some producer watching over him and I never felt truly comfortable watching any of his eviction shows because of it. Whereas with Emma you know she's an experienced presenter that is perfect for the job and I can just let her get on with it, I'm not assessing her in the same way.

That launch was just...perfect because of her. I said it soon after but Davina's launches always felt like events and I've watched many of them back (particularly the first part of them) numerous times...but I don't think I'd ever consider watching a Brian launch back, they all just blend into one for me they were that crap and forgettable. Whereas I know I'll watch BB14's back and did a couple of times after it aired anyway.

All hail Queen Emma

It's the first series I've thoroughly enjoyed for a few years.

Finally, the show got back on track. Well... sort of.

Completely agree - I adored BB13, BB14 has an edge because of the Live Feed obviously and the house  but yeah the main factor I'll take into consideration is the finalists, particularly the winner.

That's why I've such a soft spot for BB12, and (controversially) rate it far higher than BB11  because of Aaron winning.

I agree about BB12, if Aaron hadn't won it would probably be my least favourite series...like I literally can't remember a thing that happened other than what Aaron did. He was BB12

It was such a tame series when you think about it :joker: like production wise

I'll be kinda sad when its over, I've really enjoyed this years BB mainly due to Dexter & Gina, Dan has been a fab housemate too, although at times I've wanted to slap him, I really didn't like his confrontational side at all. People kept saying but at least he says it like it is, but for me if you must be confrontational I believe you should get that person on their own, that way no one is embarrassed or hurt. I am however going to miss him a lot.

On the Emma subject, I do like Emma a lot, she's gorgeous and a lovely host but I find I enjoy her much better on BBOTS. I really liked Brian but my favourite out of them all has to be Davina. Whilst Emma has been presenting BB I have seen little bits of Davina coming through and I would much rather Emma be herself rather than trying to 'copy' Davina.

So, I had a favourite top 3, Dexter, Gina & Dan, now my favourites are down to 2 :-(

Get those flippin twins out!

yeah this is one of those series where, despite all of the awfulness and terrible people, it's been so provocative and interesting that it'll be missed. It's the first series since BB9 where I've watched every HLs show - all of the others have had the week or so where I've been bored.

Rob! 27-07-2013 01:45 AM

Great series - really hope they give it a decent send off.

crocs 27-07-2013 07:04 AM

I still don't have a favorite in the series but there are people that have characteristics I like and people that have characteristics that intrigue me. It has been an interesting series and it has had the feel Big Brother like it used to. I think they did well in the housemates this year that even though they might be fame hungry, it's not the only thing in them but there are other traits in them and there are several layers in housemate. It's the best BB since BB7 as that was the last interesting one for me. Yes, I might actually feel the same kind of sadness as I used to when this is over, especially if they show the lights going off.

Gusto Brunt 27-07-2013 07:30 AM

It was a good series up until last night, when it suddenly died a death.

Daffodil 27-07-2013 09:28 AM

Loved it up to now. Might stop watching.

bez87 27-07-2013 09:31 AM

Well for me i feel the series is over now, most of the half mates are boring now, i mean what do the public think voting a massive character out like dan, i mean who rings up to get rid of the interesting lot, as much as i want sam to win, i don't want it getting stale, and getting the big characters out makes the show less entertaining. i wanted sophie to go.

Toy Soldier 27-07-2013 09:43 AM

Sad? I'll be bloody relieved this time round. Most of the characters have been awful, several people have been bullied to the point of harassment - not by the other housemates, but by a public (and as follows, a production staff) desperate for blood. It's been a shining beacon of a hideous, depraved side of human nature en-masse. All of the "fun" of previous years has been completely sucked out of the show by hateful vampires who are only really looking for someone to pour the bile from their miserable lives onto.

... so no... I won't miss this series.

aman201 27-07-2013 12:02 PM

Watching live makes you realise how dull some of the HM's really are.

It's been good, but not great.

minny03 27-07-2013 12:16 PM

I've enjoyed this series so far, but I still hate some of the decisions that the producers make. Like changing the voting format back to VTE. I don't know why they can't do VTS sometimes. And some of the twists and tasks have been poor. But whatever. There's been a few strong characters this year and this series is definitely a lot better than the last one.
