Are the housemates in touch with the outside world????!?

After Fridays live eviction, during live streaming on channel 5, the housemates asked Dexter what time it was and he gave the correct time (give or take a few mins) which I found odd considering housemates aren't allowed to know the time of day. Later on, Jack and Joe were in the diary room and they said 'The people upstairs', are the constantly going out of the house chatting with the producers???

No.

They have a clock in the kitchen and another somewhere else.

And nope they're not leaving the house. I think they can go speak to a therapist in private if they feel the need, but they don't leave the house for that.

I've never heard the 'not allowed to know the time of the day' rule before.

There is probably a clock on the oven.

The only two i am aware of with outside knowledge are Sam and Sophie but that is not their fault. BB have given them a laptop each and they are searching google to see if they have been mentioned or shown on the show. That should explain why we don't see them as much.

On CBB earlier in the year, when Rylan was leaving for his X Factor Tour Rehearsals he said he used to ask for the time of the taxi driver and run inside and put it on the oven. Big Brother would then turn the electric off to reset the oven. Also, earlier in the series, Hazel and Jackie were speculating what time it was to decide when to have their dinner?!?

I've a very funny feeling the producers themselves are alot more lenient and speak to the housemates FAR MORE than we know, infact I'm almost certain.

I think this has been the case since Ultimate Big Brother actually.

Any series Pre BB9, they couldn't do it because of the live streaming and the fact the housemates would obviously discuss DR entries.
Big Brother 10, I know they didn't - Marcus himself told me that, the producers virtually neglected the housemates that year, but then again that was obvious just from watching it.

Series 11, they couldn't do it due to the live streaming - with Ultimate Big Brother, they did, but it wasn't that big a deal - due to it all seeming alot more commercial and fake, as in the housemates have been there and done it before so know the producers fairly well already.

Channel 5 is a different story, I'm convinced the producers themselves don't address themselves as 'Big Brother' the majority of the time - the rules (for the staff) back in 2005 for example, involved Big Brother not being able to address housemates out of the Diary Room, not being able to speak in an informal manner and forming absolutely no personal relationship with individual housemates.

It's unbelievably clear (especially this year with live feed at nights) that far more is being said in the Diary Room than we actually know.

After seeing Rylan be aloud to leave the house every now and then, there's always a possibility there.

So, you're saying its more likely that they have outside contact with the world than it is likely to be a correct working clock inside a house.

Listen to yourself!

Also, nobody else has heard your Rylan and the Taxi Driver story.

Hazel has her own clock because she claims that she can't sleep unless she knows the time and she has used it on camera.

joealittle 28-07-2013 11:54 PM

has anybody else noticed this?? http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...d.php?t=232321
