Callum telling Charlie he will allow her to pick people to talk to and advise her.

On LF, he is getting quite irritated with Charlie saying she could be the person who makes him evicted on Friday. Says she has hurt him so much. When she tried to talk about it he told her to sit and listen and got irritated.

Says Dexter is brainwashing her head, but that he will allow her to talk too and ask people for advice,

BB should stop this now, what is he doing.

Bearing in mind the conversation between Callum and Charlie was already up and running and she was crying during BOTS the live feed opened halfway through the conversation....

Callum:i try to use two ears and one mouth I try not to give advice to people. I try to listen and let them make their minds up.
Charlie: That's the thing Callum...
Callum: I haven't finished.

Vanessa 30-07-2013 08:01 AM

Callum: You made a choice. You've lost your biggest fan in the house. You've lost someone who fought in your corner and would never ever ever ever let you down.
Charlie: You're saying I lost completely anything to do with you because I nominated you.
Challuom: No, you're putting words in my mouth.
Chahrlie: You're saying...
Callum: No. Don't talk for me. You're putting words in my mouth.... You're going somewhere in your head now, please listen to me. I will not go out of my way as I have been recently. I will not go out of my way to force something on you that annoys you like a conversation. Sometimes I seek you out to see how you're feeling. A massage is an excuse to sit down. I won't put you in that position because I think there are people in the house in conversation that are better for you than me. People that won't annoy you and put words in my mouth. Don't think I'm avoiding you.

Charlie interrupts. Callum gets annoyed tells her to keep still for two seconds.

this is important because 30 minutes later he is still going

Vanessa 30-07-2013 08:01 AM

Callum:I'm taking it well I will avoid you in the house

after 14 minutes charlie stood up callum told her to sit down and shush

followed by a repeat of "you've lost your number one fan" speech

Callum: i will Let you choose who to speak to I will let you choose who you want to be with I will let you choose who you want to comfort you I'll let you pick people the people you want to have chats with and I'll let you pick the people you want to take advice from
You have disappointed me and I am surprised and feel let down
that's what we have lost now the closeness that will fade away
Hazel's lovely but Dexter pours ideas into your head I've got more up here than him

charlie mentions the incident with the tanning girls that gets birdsong every time anyone starts talking about it
Callum: My word, that's so disappointing, that's the worst thing you've said

a long speech about "i know i am soft i know i am soppy i know blah blah WHATMERS were committing suicide at this point
Callum: You've done it now, you've done it now
There are two people here I would've sacrificed myself for to keep them in: you and Sam Have a think about who else would do that? I thought you had the savvy to realise you were safe around me If I do go, you have lost true friend in me If I go, one of Charlie's true friends will be walking out the door I'm upset for you, you don't understand

Thankfully at this point he was called to the diary room.
he reappeared 45 minutes later and started repeating it all to Sam.

I think Jackie had Callum sussed straightaway. He is very controlling and manipulative with Charlie and that's not good at all.

Lister of Smeg 30-07-2013 08:35 AM

Im starting to think Jackie was right about Callums aggressiveness .

She knew he was aggressive and manipuative. I can see why she was wary.

I find it hilarious that he thinks Dexter influences Charlie if thats the case what does he do with Sam.

Charlie has her own mind. I'm glad she's starting to trust Dexter . He really cares for her and treats her with respect.

BJ2 30-07-2013 09:02 AM

Charlie should have told Callum she didn't need his permission to do anything and then stood up and walked away.

I think Charlie is a people pleaser, that's her problem. She is emotionally immature and needs approval from other people.

I think it's greatly to do with the way she has been brought up. Jackie was also controlling of Charlie - remember when she walked away from Charlie when Charlie was shut in the prison.

Jackie recognized Callum's controlling nature but doesn't see it in herself.

That's what makes Callum's treatment of her so much more disturbing. He knows she's not emotionally equipped to shut him down, just like he knows everyone else in the house is, which is why he would never dream of pulling this crap with them. Even when he rehashes his arguments to Sam, he completely rewrites what he's said to make himself sound less manipulative. (much like the way he told Sam he got in Wolfy's face when we all saw him calmly point out that she was doing it wrong)

In what way did he mean to say he was giving her permission to talk to other people?

Daffodil 30-07-2013 09:52 AM

That conversation made me shiver. It was stomach-churningly uncomfortable to read. Who is HE to give Charlie permission to do anything???? There also seems to be an undercurrent of mental blackmail. Nasty nasty. Will make brilliant viewing though (if BB show it). He may just have signed his exit ticket.

Niamh. 30-07-2013 09:53 AM

Is there any videos of it floating around?

He treats Charlie like she belongs to him. He tells her who to talk to. Possessive much?

He has to go.

smeagol 30-07-2013 10:15 AM

he is everything a woman hates so controlling needy desperate agressivve manipulative untrustworthy etc etc he will let her choose lol thats kind of him

they should put he's ex's on bbots i bet they have some stories. i bet they couldn't go to the toilet without him asking where they were going lol

The fact he blames dex and is obsessed with him is just sad. he needs to start looking at himself not others.

I must admit a part of me is thinking about the nightmare scenario of Charlie and him being the last two housemates. How awful would that be?

I took it to mean he would not shun her even when she mingled with others,(as some people would do that)although she nommed him he still liked her,he might have worded it clumbsily,he does trip himself up at times(don't we all)but imo there was NO malice in that also people seem determined to use the dark side to it.
