Sophie is basically just thick
 

She has no level of understanding beyond the most superficial level. Occasionally she blunders into the right conclusion but it's purely by chance.

Beneath this, we sometimes catch glimpses of quite an unpleasant character, which is often exacerbated by ideas planted by other people.

I find the portrayal of her as 'sweet' quite funny now.

Yeah I was mystified by the sweet label she's gotten, she comes across bitchy, she complains alot when tasks don't go her way, I rarely hear her say anything nice or comforting to her other HMs either

Agree. Sophie aint sweet at all. Her criticisms are often quite cutting; nothing sweet about that at all.

I only watch the highlights but is it true that she comes across as very bitchy in the live feeds and the stuff that isn't covered on the night show?

I think Sophie is as hard as nails and quite ruthless - she is in it to win it trying to play the sweet/dumb card but she can't keep it up imo.

Atleast she don't sell herself out like Gina and Callum. She stuck up for Dexter yesterday, and what she said about Sam is true, she's tried to be nice to him but he has already made his mind that only one dull nice person can stay in the house.

At times Sophie reminds me of a younger,larger Marylin Monroe.Without the sex appeal or charm ofcourse.

Loathe how she says 'yous' rather than you or you are. GGGrrrr


She also states the obvious and doesn't say anything insightful. Hate to admit it but Hazel seems to be the smartest (younger)female.

Yeah, it's noticeable in every conversation she has that she just adds to and repeats the opinions of the other person.

Like the video of her bitching about Hazel with Gina, she just takes everything Gina says and spins it around.

She doesn't have an original thought or opinion in her head.

Far from thick, she is a street wise cookie and a good game player.

I was a fan until the last few days, she's 'in' with the 'in' crowd and gets a bit catty now.

I really haven't made my mind up about Sophie , in LF she does seem to chat and get on fine with the other girls so i'm really not sure. Everyone in there bitches - who wouldn't when yer locked up for weeks with all manner of folk ! Goblins, witches, hobbits & gremlins !!!

This is why I wish they had chosen a smart female. HMs like Sophie just aren't interesting to watch, they offer little other than being depicted as 'nice' and 'down to earth' because they aren't that smart. E.g. if she has a task and is sprayed with fish, she'd say 'ewww, it stinks of fish' :joker::sleep::sleep:

She's a good game-player in as much as she's still in there, purely on the basis that everyone else has been concentrating on other HMs. That's luck.

She's keen to suggest that Sam's playing a devious game by perceiving her as a threat and acting accordingly but I suspect they're both being themselves. Unfortunately, Sophie being herself is less pleasant than Sam on the evidence presented so far.

Why did they edit out most of the insults that Sam threw at Sophie - such as calling her a Barbie doll?

Why would BB do that - it looked like the pre-match insults were almost all from Sophie - which contradicts the video that went on youtube yesterday.

Not the most intelligent that's for sure.

However, I do like that she seems to make her own decisions in the house and isn't easily swayed or influenced by what others say or do. She carriers herself with an air of maturity imo. Generally a bore of a housemate and I think a waste of space, but I think shes conducted herself quite respectfully in there.

Why? Marilyn Monroe wasn't in any way stupid. She was a very intelligent, well read woman who just happened to pay the part of the dumb blonde. Comparing Sophie to her, is like comparing a 2 year old hitting a biscuit tin with a hairbrush to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.:nono:

I have to disagree with the idea that she isn't swayed by others. Dan in particular seemed to influence her thoughts, although she wasn't the only one under his spell in this regard.

Maybe she just agreed or had the same viewpoint as Dan though?

For all his bitching, he was probably the smartest housemate....

I just find her miserable most of the time.

She's never pretended to be the sharpest pencil in the box. However, Dexter claims to be in PR and mispronounces or uses the wrong word allllll the time. I am particularly amused at the way he used the word 'literally' when he means 'figuratively'. Real PRs would eat him alive.
