I think it's spot on he fooled himself, he's that deceptively intelligent he has fooled himself into thinking he is not too bright and therefore acts it.

Yes just like the rest of the detritus he stupidly professed to have done in his VT - saying he had slept with a mother/daughter was the work of a deceptively intelligent chap and worked out so well for him - A proven liar time after time - give some people a rope and chair ! Callums only got himself to blame
