BB Australia ripping off BB UK beyond belief.
I watched it last night, the launch I mean - just to give it a go.
I'm sorry but what the ****** Because they're 2012 series failed by the sounds of it, they've decided to try and cram as much BBUK twists into one launch night? Let's see, We've got Heaven and Hell from BB9, Rich and Poor from BB3, Unlucky 13, Couples, Safe Houses, Half Way Houses; oh and let's not mention the BB7 Diary Room Chair - and for all I know there could be more, I turned the launch of after all the housemates were inside the house though. I didn't really have a clue what the ****** was happening, whether it was over or what. See I have no problem with other countries copying the superior BBUK - but, this is the first country I've seen that's literally went through every series of our show, and plucked out some of the best twists and ideas, and rammed them into their own launch. It's 'cute' but also annoying - seeing them all react to the Heaven and Hell divide and the Diary Room chair, when we've been there and done that like five years ago  Some good housemates though, but I doubt I'll bother watching the rest of it - which is a shame, I use to enjoy BB AUS - but now I find myself more willing to give BBUSA a go, I need something to watch whilst CBB12 is on. Also, watching the BBAUS launch made me appreciate just how TONED DOWN our series has gotten, compared to BB12 and BB13. I'm actually very proud of BB14, because when that woman Sonia came out of the eye dancing like a dickhead - it just gave me flashbacks to Brian Dowling doing it last Summer. Emma would never do such a thing. It's good to see our version going back to it's roots, and that can only be apperciated when compared to something like the camp fest that is the BBAUS launch. |
Just watched some of it on YouTube. The host is doing a ****ing dance routine. I'm so confused.

You have to remember that Endemol creates the series and that they are allowed to use anything from ANY series of Big Brother across the world. Big Brother UK in a way is being complimented because countries want to use our ideas and formats. Don't you think that's great that our version is loved internationally?
Australian TV is different to our TV. Their dancing etc was loved by so many people... You have to remember that people love different things over there. I am enjoying this series so much better than 2012 and I'm going to continue watching it. |

Not to mention 2 strangers pretending to be a married couple (ala Mario & Steph BB9) and 2 blonde sisters who are ditzy barbie girls (ala Sam & Amanda BB8, btw these 2 enter as 'intruders').

I skipped through it watching brief bits and the one thing I will say is that the twist was executed pretty well, I thought the keys were a nice touch and the divide is pretty good too. The luxury side of the house is awesome, that pool is beautiful
I shan't be watching it though, mainly cause UK and US is enough already but I've also heard it's like a PG Big Brother and after BB11 that's the last thing I need. |
...we do realize they were the ones that thought of the Ignore the Obvious Task right?
|
Their Halfway house is different. The Housmates who get nominated for eviction move into the halfway House... Which I think is a good idea.

Edit Patrick - you've been around here long enough to know Big Brother is an international franchise and you should be intelligent enough to know that there is no ripping off going on - it's just a sharing of ideas.
The divide is by no means a BBUK twist - it originates in Holland and actually BB Aus have added their own take on it with the nominations twist. The diary room chair has turned up in numerous places, but that's no surprise. You obviously only watched the launch wanting to slag it off - and not because you love the show, but because you really truly believe that no version of BB should ever do anything that BBUK has ever done. That's as stupid as saying Tesco in Swindon shouldn't sell bananas because Tesco in Reading already sell bananas. |
Patrick, you do know that most of our stuff has been taken from other BB's right? :joker:

Give me examples. I know alot of ideas have been shared around the world by Endemol as Jarrod said - I'm not thick, but never before has Big Brother UK had a launch night devoted to trying to cram in as much twists as possible, that were taken from another country. That's what I'm saying. Quote:
But for the record, I watched the launch because I wanted to; I had an open mind and was ready to be impressed, as with BB14 ending I wanted something new to watch. So don't act like you know me, or know what I'm about - because you don't, if I watched it to slag it off then why have I constantly been a fan of BB AUS in the past? I even said the house and the housemates are brilliant, and there's a few characters I'd love to watch. It's just that the launch pissed me off because of how much they copied us. |
I've hardly watched BB Aus but I think the BOTS / Big Mouth / E-Fourum format originated there.

The way AU is doing Heaven & Hell isnt a UK rip off.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the UK has never started a series with the house split like that. Thats clearly (from the ones Ive seen) is a BB Germany9 rip off ;) Also the UK was not the first to do the Rich/Poor house. You can thank both the Netherlands & Poland for that concept. |

I really liked the launch. I thought there was a great mashup of characters (Except for Ben).
Loved the stage, loved the house, loved the twist, loved every bit of it. It's actually a global series I'm going to watch from start to end and not quit halfway through. |
