Does a photo make a difference
Does knowing what someone looks like change the way you converse with them?
|
Definitely. I actually kinda prefer not knowing what people look like (on forums, obviously, it'd be weird if I went around in real life not looking at people while I talked to them) because I tend to picture them as their avatar if I picture them at all - so Jesus is Jesus, Livia is Uma Thurman, arista is The Hulk, Big Sister is the Big Brother gnome... etc

Guess so

No, if I like the way they post on here and how they are with me, that's enough. There's a few people on here ( I've been here almost 4 years ) who I've bonded with instantly and formed good friendships with. I don't really think about what they look like, like Zee does I sometimes have a mental picture of them as their avatar, but not always even that.

No, I don't think so, why should it?

Yep. When I saw what Greg looked like I just couldn't speak to him with sincerity or kindness anymore.
