How do you pronounce trolling?
I've recently been informed that "trolling" is supposed to be pronounced like "trawling", which makes so much sense but I just cannot get used to it - I've said it "trolling" as in troll under the bridge for such a long time, rather than trawl or the troll sound in trolley. :o
|
I say it as in troll from trolley.
|
T + Rolling is how it should sound.

Troll is derived from the obnoxious monsters from childrens tales. The person who gave you that information was wrong, and I'd probably cut off all future contact from them if I were you. |

The way that it's supposed to..

If I were to say "trolololol" aloud I'd say it "trawlololol"... I think that's probably because of how lol is pronounced though.

Why have all you troll as in trolley people voted "troll-ing" then?! Troll as in trolley would be trawling... I say it trolling rhyming with rolling, not trolling rhyming with bawling
|
Because troll as in trolley isnt trawl?

Troll - LOL Trawl is nothing to do with anything unless you have an accent. The way I say troll - it rhymes with roll. But your Scottish brogue probably struggles to work out the true English phonetics at play here. |

Trawl rhymes with shawl  |
