Do you like to gamble?

Are you into gambling? Do you bet on football, horses, other sports? Do you like to go to the casino and play roulette or card games? Do you like to have nights in with your friends where you bet on things?

i bet on football and win most times :amazed::cheer2:

I don't really like doing anything that throws away the money I get. Everything I earn now, is geared towards me retiring earlier, so throwing money away on bets is not something I really do.

I did get a tax rebate a couple of years ago (£300), that I wasn't expecting, so I blew the lot on Cristiano Ronaldo (of all ******ing people) to score a hattrick in some European game. He scored 2 goals, I lost £300. Lesson learned.

I could cope with that as it was free money.

Ammi 09-08-2013 08:59 AM

..no I don't have any interest in it whatsoever except on a few occasions when I've gone to a racing event and bet on something as part of the experience..

No its for the gullible.
Nobody wins except the bookmakers anybody that claims otherwise isnt being truthful.
Nobody posts their losses just their wins and the bookmakers love people to post their wins it the best advertising going.
The bookmakers love people to win because it makes it a sure thing they will return with higher confidence than last time.
Betting is for the hard of thinking and is an exact science designed and perfected to give just enough to draw the gullible in and slowly bleed them of cash.

When you win the bookie is smiling at the thought of you being happy that you won for a reason.

The betting addicts will claim otherwise though obviously and claim the fact you cant win in the longrun is either untrue or naive  predictable.

No, and I don't agree with gambling being advertised so easily. There should be regulations on those sort of adverts being shown.

Novo 09-08-2013 09:19 AM

there isn't really much i haven't betted on over the years but nowdays i still to Football, NHL and Reality TV. this idea that the bookies always win and you'll always lose isn't true at all it is a naive view, i know people over the years that have made a living of gambling but on the other side i've seen people with really well paid jobs lose months wages in the space of 20 minutes but it is fixed outcome betting like Virtual racing and Roulette that is a Major reason for that, clever gamblers stick to their strengths and what they know.

Bet on football most weekends when the season is on, makes non-Liverpool games a lot more interesting. Do other things every now an then when I'm bored, but mainly just football.

the odd football bet and poker but thats about it

Tozzie 09-08-2013 12:00 PM

I'm not a gambler except for the odd quid on the lotto. However when we visited Las Vegas 4 years ago my husband and I had life on the slot machines, we broke even just about every night, it was great fun I must admit. Love to go back!

I have said so many times in here.
I do repeat I do not like gambling as my late husband was a gambler.(roulette only).
I only can tell you by his experiences but for example, if he wins ten times continuously, he would lose double the money he won at eleventh time.

If he was winning, he would want to win more, if he was losing, he would try recovering the money he lost - digging a hole.

If he did not gamble, I could have retired much earlier.

When BB14 started, I was not really happy about the sponsor was a gamble company. But anyway I was grateful that I could watch BB.

I am very concerned about net gambling. Specially young people can play it in their bedrooms. I hope they are not going to get a gambling addiction.

Novo 09-08-2013 07:15 PM

not really surprised he was a roulette only gambler, there are definitely no winners when it comes to that game

Jords 09-08-2013 07:25 PM

I do the occasional bet on Reality TV and tennis, also the Grand National.

I quite enjoy going to the casino as well but only really play the card games (Black Jack, 3-card poker).

Smithy 09-08-2013 07:31 PM

Maybe a scratchcard or a lottery ticket once in a blue moon

Same, although I do get a lottery ticket if there is one of those big jackpots.

Even something like BB that I follow, some evictions I haven't a clue who is going despite watching the show religiously. So for me it really would be like throwing money away.

Samuel. 10-08-2013 03:21 PM

I did until losing £200 on the last World Cup

Bloody Denmark

Roy Mars III 10-08-2013 03:35 PM

one of the few enjoyments I get out of life

Roy Mars III 10-08-2013 03:46 PM

when I say gamble I mean cards and such, I don't like playing the lotto or sports betting that much since it depends too much on luck
