Do you have a go-to diet?

When you need to lose weight, if there a specific diet change you go on?

Am in serious need of losing some before going back to uni, so going on the old reliable Sultana Bran diet; consisting of just the one proper meal a day and a bowl of Sultana Bran or two. Lost roughly a stone in a month before.

Having the ****s is an unfortunate side effect...

That sounds pretty effective to me, I have the opposite problem though

I need to lose weight badly, after my holiday I'm thinking of doing something similar, a breakfast diet of some kind

Might give that Sultana Bran diet a go when I go back to uni next month; I can't really control what I'm eating every day because we have family dinner together every night

I'd try sultana bran but I'm not a fan of sultanas lol

I cut out as much sugar as possible- stop drinking, avoid carbs etc. For a really quick fix I do this but only eating dinner.

So heeeealthy

Sorry to be a pain in the arse here but any go to crash diets like cereal diets etc are completely pointless IMO, anything you lose will be half or more water weight and you will pile it back on when you start eating normally again.

Best thing you can do is just stick to a good diet + exercise routine.

If you need to then do a (safe) detox to kick start your metabolism first.

Assuming that's the only situation, though.

Every year I go through a couple of months just eating nothing but crap, end up putting on a stone or so, and diet it away to get back where I originally was.

That. If you have a juicer, doing a 3 day juice detox will do a lot, and you won't be tricking your body into thinking you're starving so it shuts down. What it really does it help get you over the levels of salt and sugar and chemicals your body has adjusted to as being "normal".

(I don't mean drinking grapefruit for 3 days, but making actual juice blends that include everything you need to survive. The safe programs also include whole, raw fruit and veg that can't be juiced to make sure you still get the protein you need.)
