Are Jack and Joe "playing the game" ?

Or just being themselves ?

If they're just being themselves there's something refreshing, admirable and likeable about it.

Or is their gameplay so brilliant I just can't see it ?

If they don't manipulate or handle situations to their advantage they aren't gonna score "gameplaying" points.

Would have given them 10 for gameplaying (i.e. don't need one) but made a cockup on the cash twist where they didn't take the biggest amount possible.

Similarly Dex would have been higher for gameplaying except for 99Kgate and how he sometimes is too silent and coy.
How he handles the next few days could be crucial.

Here's how I rank the housemates right now...

.................................Dexter.......Gina ......Jack.and.Joe....Charlie......Sam
Intrigue/Interest..........10.............8...........7.... ...............9............6
Entertainment/Comedy...9............. 8..........9....................6............5
Playing.a.GOOD.game....6..............9..........7 *.................10...........8
TOTAL........................25...........25...... ..23..................25..........19

* Not playing - just being themselves ?

Deciding factors (just for me...)

- How Dexter handles Charlie's onslaught/manipulation
- Whether Gina can keep her cool, handle Charlie and warm more to the public
- Whether Charlie can be more fun loving.
- Sam - whether he can push that moral highground to the max(hey it's a game !) or be called out by Dex.
- Jack and Joe - not sure but how they react to people (like Charlie and Gina) vying for their support could be interesting.

They are guaranteeing airtime but not especially playing the game. For whatever reason, Big Brother has been a bit protective of them.

They are playing a game....they know just how to behave and are very conscious of how they are percieved.

I reckon they went in to play the " aren't we funny"card.

Turned out they are funny anyway.

Could not be doing with them at first now in my top 2

I don't see them as funny but I think that is because they proper annoy me, especially Jack, I really do not like how obnoxious, cocky and up his own bottom he is. I will always remember the episode when he said 'lower your tone, strengthen you argument' that would have infuriated me and I wouldn't take kindly to a bit of a kid speaking to me like that. Also the time he kept shouting 'ARE YOU MY TWIN, ARE YOU MY TWIN, ARE YOU MY TWIN' I'd have shouted back 'THANK GOD I'M NOT YOUR TWIN' LOL

Obviously I don't know the twins in 'real life' but if Jack is so obnoxious and cocky on the outside as he is in the house I'm not quite sure how he hasn't had a slap before now LOL

Big Brother is a gameshow
The winner receives £100,000.
Every housemate want to win.
Every housemate want the £100,000.
Every housemate has a gameplan.
The housemate with the best gameplan wins.

the_answers 17-08-2013 12:05 PM

What's their gameplan then ?

Sometimes that gameplan is just to have fun, be themselves but try not to show their worst side (which everyone has). And hope for the best!

Well said 100% agree with you, the way they speak to people at times really annoys me, I think because all the HM's find them funny, they can get away with murder, I really can not stand them, I'm so so angry they are in the final:devil:,
I saw right through there character from day 1, & have not changed my mind one bit about them.

I think their gameplan was just to be the funny, cute and adorable ones. In the AJ interview when asked to describe themselves, they had pre-rehearsed because one said to the other, "remember the 3 'f's - fun, fat, and friendly".

A lot of their 'arguments' in the diary room with each other seem extremely staged too.

I remember one of them saying a few times that the house was reminding him of school, that he felt left out and that nobody liked him as much as they liked everyone else. Even though everyone was friendly he just seemed to feel lonely and that he didn't fit in.

I think it is very important for them to feel liked and that is why they are so desperate to be accepted and also why they look so genuinely sad when they are put up for eviction.

They are EXTREMELY annoying at times in their over-attempt to be funny and in their style of arguing too. They just won't let the other person talk.
They seem to be a bit too mean to Dexter at times too and a bit too cocksure that the public must not really like him.

All this being said I don't think they can be accused of sitting on the fence or being overly two faced. They will have an argument of anybody regardless of that person's personality and they always, always defend themselves.

The bigger one seems quite honest about wanting to win, last night on live feed he just said it so wistfully, "Oh I'd love to win" his brother was like "stop going on about it!"
And in the task they very openly asked Big Brother to confirm that they could keep the amount of money and walk with the amount they had chosen" - what made my blood boil though is that they jumped on Sam's bitching wagon about Dexter for doing the same thing.

So all in all I think their only gameplan is the 'funny' thing.
They are very annoying and unlikeable at times, but I think they are upfront most of the time and are definitely not the most boring housemates remaining.

nope, no one can accuse them of being boring thats for sure. They have brought a lot to the house thats for sure, I don't like what they've brought to the house but all the same, they certainly haven't sat on the fence.

Unfortunately :bawling:

Of course they have a game plan, they pretty much confirmed it when they asked their parents in that freeze task "are we being funny?". Everyone in there has a gameplan.

It is a game show after all so I don't blame them for having a gameplan. Their plan came off as very artificial and unsuccessful though IMO, and combined with their nasty personalities, it left a bad taste. If being funny was their plan I suggest they not dub themselves J & J Humour Factory and pitch a skit tv show anytime soon.

the "endearing" double act. The bickering etc. I have found them a bit funnier recently when they actually stopped doing it for the cameras.

Slevin 17-08-2013 04:41 PM

the only thing i really found funny was the first big argument they had when Daley & Hazel were at the table with em. i cant stand their DR sessions. so cheesy the way they talk and with the prolonged sayings.

Scream 17-08-2013 04:47 PM

I think that they are trying too hard to be funny and they are really thinking about how they're coming across. They kind of stop the other one from ruining their chances. When Joe wanted to leave and kept complaining Jack kept trying to stop him looking bad and then when Jack was having a go at Gina, Joe kept trying to stop him raising his voice.

I think they are quite nice people though but a bit annoying

Ramsay 17-08-2013 05:14 PM

When they are in the diary room they go full ''gameplay'' mode and try extra hard to be funny
