Average money needed for Las Vegas, Nevada or California

Basically me n a couple of my boys, planning a holiday to goto America. Its between California (for the great girls and other things) and Las Vegas (for casinos mainly), how much money would we need to have a good time in each of those locations.

Also which one would you rather go to?

I've no idea  generally the standard of living is cheaper in America (probably not Vegas though) but I imagine you'll be more worried about drinks and gambling than breakfast and toilet roll :p

I'd love to go to either, but I'd probably pick California just for the variety... preferably L.A. or San Diego.

I went to Vegas in April

Spent about $20 per night on accommodation (Circus Circus) with about $100 hotel fees on top of that. Then I had about $700 (£500ish) to spend. But if you want a proper good time e.g. Canyon, Helicopter tours you might want to double that. But for a drinking holiday it should be fine. Notify your bank that you're going on holiday before and if you do need some money take some out with your debit card. You might have a small charge and a limit per day but it'll get you out of any troubles.

Enjoy!

Vegas. And might aswell make the most of it and drink and gamble for the duration. 5k. 3 at least.

Las Vegas. It's like Disneyland for grownups.

I wouldn't go with less than £1500, but then I would do both. Flight are so cheap from Vegas to LA that you might as well.

if you plan on gambling lots keep the stakes low and you won't need that much spend in Vegas. When we went, for the first couple of nights we were putting in dollar coins but found we were spending too much, we then decided to go for the lower coin slots and managed to break even on most nights with between 20 and 25 dollars. It was great fun and I so wish I could go back. Hey, as long as you are putting money in the slots you get free booze or you did when we went 4 years ago. Enjoy, you lucky thing.
