Sam goes Gina has a boyfriend, so she's a safe one to declare feelings for he can't with Charlie as a) callum would be betrayed b) Charlie I suspect fancies sam c) she'll need constant DC. Nope Gina is the safe bet.

What I do no, for certainty,that apart from Callum,GINA has been Sam's best friend in there, even above the twins.

The edit really did eliminate the friendship between Gina and Sam.

Even if Sam's declaration is true, it's tsught c5 a lesson about editing relationships out of the show in favour of more obvious " showmance "
