Well I hope more than 2.6m for the launch

Gstar 20-08-2013 03:57 PM

aaah, all these series, I'm losing my mind!

RichardG 20-08-2013 04:01 PM

Last years CBB10 that followed on from the main series had 2.61m, hopefully we'll beat that this year.

daniel-lewis-1985 21-08-2013 12:35 PM

Cant see it doing that well.

Its had no promotion.

From memory I don't think CBB10's promotion was very good either... the only thing I remember was that awful ad with Brian in the sparkly purple diary room. I remember everyone being surprised at how good the launch ratings were the next day.

Rob! 21-08-2013 12:41 PM

I dunno how well this will do...I'm going to go for the same amount as the BB launch tbh.

Raph 21-08-2013 12:53 PM

Hope it does less well than the civilian BB. And I'll definitely not be watching it, CBB isn't meant for the summer.

Jake. 21-08-2013 01:05 PM

I think it'll get 2.4ish although it might suprise me

BigBrotherfan4ever 21-08-2013 01:09 PM

I think about 2.3million

daniel-lewis-1985 21-08-2013 01:11 PM

The final of BB14 got the same as last years CBB final (mad to think).

CBB is just not needed in the summer, its to much.

neneu10 23-08-2013 01:53 AM

I'm anxious to see the launch figures

thom_bombadil 23-08-2013 08:49 AM

2.66m, according to @tvratingsuk on twitter.

There's no need for two Celeb BB's a year.

jackc1806 23-08-2013 09:06 AM

2.7 million inc+1 (14.2%)
Peak 3.06m

Overkill

Both a good and bad rating, 2.66m

Good:
- It came second in its slot, beating BBC2, ITV and Channel 4. It was only beat by BBC1.
- it is up from last summer's celeb launch

Bad:
- it is down from January launch (although there are generally more viewers in January anyway)
- It is the second lowest launch CBB rating to date.

jackc1806 23-08-2013 09:11 AM

January will always win- it has more casual viewers, sustained ad campaign and is not just plonked on the end of BB

Channel 5 are well and truly wringing the format dry. It's on pretty much all year. I'm an avid fan, but even I find myself losing interest at times. They should make people wait and thirst for it.

SSL2012 23-08-2013 09:48 AM

I reckon this is the last summer series anyway, contracts up for renewal soon enough.

With just the 1 in january, five will have a bigger budget, extensive advertising campaign, higher viewer figures and better celebs.

A no brainer

Even so 2.7million is still ridiculously high by c5 standards.

Samm 23-08-2013 10:03 AM

I thought it will get lower

SSL2012 23-08-2013 10:05 AM

It's got some very big characters in there. Tbh i can see the retention being very good.

Will end up anywhere from 2-2.3million in overnights i reckon.

2.83million with +1, just shy of the magic 3million.

Jake. 23-08-2013 10:21 AM

That's a far better rating than expected, given how BB14 launched with 2.1 I was going to put it around that mark. Matches CBB10s launch. Great that it came second.

Rob! 23-08-2013 10:35 AM

As some on digital spy have said, it's certainly not bad for a 2 hour show on channel 5 but it's certainly nowhere near that ridiculous 4m mark the daily star predicted.

Jordan. 23-08-2013 10:53 AM

Winter CBB always does better, so I'm only gonna compare this to last summers CBB to see how good/bad it's doing.

DigitalSid 23-08-2013 10:57 AM

Great. Up on last year's summer series, which is the only one, given the difference in available casual viewers between January and August, you can compre it to, in both rating and share, and came second only to BBC One in it's slot.

Beat CBB10's launch by 100k, and beat it's overall share before you even add +1.

It's not effecting the winter series, as CBB11 showed, so I don't see why, and it rates better for them than dragging out the normal series would, much as I'd love to have seen Dextina in there a few more weeks.

SSL2012 23-08-2013 11:10 AM

I agree with that your saying.

However, surely Ben Frow realises that at this rate they're gunna have to re-use the same celebritys...Must be running out of options.

And when you go for people like Danielle Marr, even Mr Motivator was linked (prob a standby) then you really are scrapping the barrel. Imagine a whole cast full of non-celebritys like Danielle Marr?

For that reason alone i'd scrape the summer series, or it truly will impact the jan version. Mind it's obvious every jan edition will have the novelty act from x factor in their.
