Are they taking the piss? [Carol language warning]
How can you be warned when she was quoting what somebody else said?
CBBC Big Brother :bored: |

Pathetic really. |
Because she still used an inappropriate word? I guarantee if they did not blank it out then some people would of been pissed.
You don't say the word even if quoting someone. Not hard to just say "he said the n bomb". Fair warning. |
A word is a word. She could have told him without using the whole word. Imagine Richard Arnold on Daybreak saying 'On Saturdays Big Brother, Louie said ****' and expect him to get away with it.
Although it was strange that they were seemingly happy for 'big brother' to use it |
They have been the same since CBB5
Trigger happy and **** scared of Ofcom |
Why didn't she keep her silly old gob shut?

..it was a fair warning and she accepted it immediately because she knew she shouldn't have repeated it...

Yes, they are taking the piss.
This year, I dont think there has been one deserved warning (that we have seen) -Jemima black men thing - Dexter caravan comment - Gina beanie snatch/assault  And now this Its from one extreme to the other. Last year they did **** all when they should have, and this year I feel the housemates should be afraid to sneeze incase they are warned :joker: |
Wow i could of easily been offended by that and i guarantee other people have been offended. Listen, that lost woman should be using her brain, why the **** couldn't she say he had a race row? Thats all she needed to say.
Fair warning. Get over it. |

I obviously disagree with the use of the word but I wouldn't have complained if it weren't censored, the show is meant to reflect what is ACTUALLY being said, and they don't say 'bleep' I should just clarify my actual issue is with these 'formal warnings' that they'll hand out for anything nowadays. In the past it was just a reminder not to use such terms and a threat of a formal warning if they were to do it again, that was much fairer and would have been much more applicable here |

Is that the only word we are persecuted for saying?
:spin: |
Absolutely ridiculous! She didn't exhibit any racist behaviour... She quoted somebody else's comments!

I don't think a "formal warning" was really necessary, just a reminder to be careful with the words she uses because they are offensive, even if she was just quoting someone
|
who and what they did say
|
She was quoting Ron, and even if some were offended, she apologised immediately which was well-handled. However, when is Big Brother going to get a formal warning for doing exactly the same thing whilst warning Carol?
|
Its still unacceptable language quoting or not.
If "I was quoting someone" was accepted as a reason to say something anybody could get away with saying horrific things. They bleeped her saying it for her own good so it cant be used out of context by the media or anybody trying to make her look bad. It could be made to look a hell of a lot worse if the context it was used in was cut out of a clip. |

Not one person has said who, just 'she'
Who said this?? |
What surprises me is that Carol is supposed to be a media professional.
|
I'm sure the reason they give out warnings so easily is because they know it'll get press attention.
