Grand Theft Auto V [No Spoilers] - Don't install the "Play" disc on 360, R* warns
 

I know this isn't how TiBB gaming threads are usually done, but this is the biggest launch of the year and there will be a whole bunch people playing through the game at different speeds, I know spoiler tags exist, but I think it'd be easier if we had a dedicated spoiler thread, and a spoiler free thread.

R* have launched the "Life Invader" social network sites, you can get a whole bunch of ingame discounts by "stalking" stuff on there, for it to work, your Social Club profile must be linked to your Xbox/Playstation account. Enjoy!

Amazon/Shopto are shipping copies of the game, either today or tommorow, it's likely the game will arrive by Monday, maybe Saturday.

Rockstar has said only install the "Installation" disc on the 360, the game runs much smoother when you play the game from the disc. PS3 users can install the whole game to the hard drive though.

Play disc = The disc that you play the game from.
Install disc = The game that you install the game from, which you will need to do before playing.

that sounds odd... is that a common thing with games on the 360? *so glad i stuck to PS :laugh:*

It's just a technological difference between the two, the 360 version has to run the install and the play disc install from two different systems, for the PS3, its much simpler. I don't installing the play disc will break the game, it'll just make it look a bit ****, lol.

And yup, 8GB worth of space will be required for install, lol.

I think it's a mandatory install for both consoles, basically, the reason for doing it is, the installed part of the game, is basically the game world, the disc is the rest of the stuff, this ensures we dont get jaggies and pop-ins like IV.

What's all this I've been hearing about installing something to a USB?
