I am a Celeb or cbb - best career boost

Which show is better for a celeb to appear on in terms of boosting career and profile - don't be biased!

I AM Celeb is a bigger show, itv, larger fees , higher profile but it takes place in December just before cbb returns.

Cbb means larger fish in small pond, guaranteed daily star coverage and desmond empire interviews.

I'd say BB, you normally see celebs who appear on that hang around a bit longer on the z list scene than those who do IAC.

I think both are very career successful

This is a good thread, I agree with Jordan

The only people to have good career boosts from IAC is Katie/Peter, Gino, Helen and Ashley

Equal I would say.It also depends on what the winner wants to make from it.

Mylene Class did very well out of it and it rebooted Kerry Katonas bookings also

Im a Celeb is a more credible show on the whole and if you look at the lineups for the past few years there are DEFINITELY more celebs that you KNOW than that you don't know and I find the lineups for Celeb BB are getting worse

IAC

it isn't seen as trashy as CBB to the wider audience

I can see it from both ways.. as it has been said, you'll get in Desmond's papers with CBB, whilst IAC is far less trashy to many and is still watched by 9 million odd people

Looking at the IAC winners I can't see any of them who did well off the back of it, quite a few of them have stuck around sort of in the public eye in the tv/entertainment industry like Biggins, Joe Swash, Stacey etc. but their time in the jungle hasn't had much to do with that (Tuffers is another who's still a big name in the sporting world but IAC is irrelevant to that)

There is a difference in perceptions towards the two shows too which is important imo, IAC is more popular and more commercial but has little impact on celebrities careers either way, there's not so much potential to either wreck someone's image or rehabiltate it because it's not that sort of show and the people who go on aren't that interested in doing that, they're generally decent celebs anyway who agree to a couple of weeks messing around in the jungle for a big pay check (I guess the likes of Katie/Peter and Marc/Cerys are exceptions to this)

The fact that CBB isn't as mainstream can help celebs too, like the vast majority of people don't really care about Rylan but winning the show has allowed him to become a bigger success in the narrower field of trashy reality tv, like the OP said it's sorta a bigger fish in smaller pond type thing

zakman440 16-09-2013 07:23 AM

I'd say both, although IAC get's more viewers.
