PM says chanters of the word 'yid' should not be prosecuted at Spurs matches
Prime Minister believes Spurs fans should not be
charged for using Y-word... unless chants are motivated by hatred Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...#ixzz2fAiUxNEH http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...n-8822312.html The Yid term maybe should be banned as its to complex to know how they mean it. |
So the Spurs fans will be free to sing 'yid army' still as it seems to be some sort of term of endearment between them.
|
He's right, its not hard to see the difference between Spurs fans using it as part of their identity and opposing fans using it as an offensive term
|
It's no different from Black Afro Americans using the N word as they have reclaimed the word. But if I were to use the N word then that would be unacceptable . Same with the Y word Jewish spurs fans can use it but other non Jewish fans should leave well alone.

It's always happened, hasn't it.... it's a Spurs thing, so obviously the opposing fans will use it detrimentally. Personally I couldn't care less... it's just a word. Even though I am a Yid, I'm also a West Ham fan so therefore outrank them all.

Is that a Sheffield Wednesday strip I see in your avatar? Do you have a song? Are there any songs about knives and forks... or Wednesdays, hmmm? |

Haha it certainly is. Our anthem is Hi-ho Sheffield Wednesday which is a re-done version of high-ho silver lining song. We don't sing about the steel industry, whippets and flat caps anymore  |
This reminds of the time when somebody (connected with the away team obviously) made a police complaint after a Swans game, outraged that blatant racism was being allowed after the entire stadium chanted 'you Jack bastard' at a new black player..which is something they chant at every new player.
It was Man United now I think about it, probably Ferguson. |
