http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/arti...er-2324253.jpg We've been talking about exits and even speculated who will be arriving but now it has been announced Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright will be joining Albert Square. This coming Christmas, Dyer will come in as Shirley Carter's brother Mick and his family move to E20. This will make them the first family to arrive and immediately take over The Queen Victoria since EastEnders began. Speaking of the role, Dyer was keen to start this new acting path. “I'm so excited about starting a new chapter in my career and I cannot wait to become part of the East End family.” He turned down the soap in 2009, saying then: “It’s not something I fancy.” The Upper Hand and Ali G Indahouse actress Kellie added: “I'm very excited about joining the show. "Not only am I looking forward to working with Danny but becoming Landlady of The Vic is a real honour.” Mick (Danny Dyer) is the baby of the Carter siblings. He has always adored older sister Shirley (Linda Henry) who brought him and sister Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) up when their mother walked out on them as children. But Mick and Shirley have been estranged for years due to animosity between Shirley and Mick's wife, Linda. Dyer began his career at the age of 16 when he appeared in Prime Suspect 3, alongside Helen Mirren. He caused outrage when he told a lad in his agony column in Zoo magazine to “cut your ex’s face then no one will want her”. He said he was misquoted. Kellie Bright is best known for her roles in The Upper Hand, Ali G Indahouse and Rock and Chips. * Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright will start filming at EastEnders at the end of October and they will appear on screen at the end of the year The Mirror |

Sounds pretty decent and apparently they're planning on bringing in his entire family as well - http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...queen-vic.html
They start filming at the end of this month, their debut scenes due to air @ Christmas-ish. I made a post a couple of hours back hating on it but it actually seems to have potential with his family around as it'll develop Shirley's character (and she's badly in need of some major character development). |
Might actually get me to start watching again
Himself and Max need to become bros |
EastEnders star Shane Richie has said that there is a "massive" storyline ahead for his character Alfie Moon.
It was revealed earlier today that Danny Dyer has been cast as the Queen Vic's new landlord Mick, leaving Alfie and Roxy Mitchell's future uncertain. Speaking in an interview with Bella magazine, Richie said: "The storyline that we are about to film is massive, it's a big story for my character, which I am really looking forward to. "I hope Kat and Alfie reunite. It is something that may happen very soon but I couldn't possibly say." Speaking about his future on the soap, Richie added: "I will stay as long as they want me there and as long as they keep coming up with great stories. "I've got a wife and children to look after and I pay my older kids' phone bills even though one of them has just toured with Justin Bieber." Dyer will start work on the BBC One soap later this month, making his debut on screen during the Christmas period. Meanwhile, bookmaker Coral is now giving odds of 16/1 that Dyer's character will be killed off before the end of 2014, while it's 2/9 that he's still the landlord on Christmas Day 2014. Meanwhile, William Hill has announced that it is taking bets on who Mick will be kicking out of his pub first. Carl White leads the bets at 5/1, David Wicks and Max Branning have both been given 6/1 and Phil Mitchell comes in at 12/1. Masood Ahmed is the outsider at 40/1. Digital Spy |
