This MP is right though, I personally don't want a referendum as to the EU because it doesn't matter to me, I would vote to stay in no matter what.
However all this nonsense of the EU being an important issue but David Cameron not doing any new negotiations until after the next election and then a further 2 years down the line holding a referendum stinks totally.

I agree with the MP that is should be settled before the next election, the negotiations could have been going on for the last year at least and the referendum could easily have been done by or even at the 2015 election, when many more voters would have taken part too.
To get any actual date for a referendum, Cameron will need at least an 80 to 100 overall majority in order to beat off his pro EU MPs,he also will not start any negotiations until he gets an overall majority despite there being little objection to him negotiating a better deal for the UK which is what he should be doing constantly as PM anyway now.

He will find a way to argue, were it likely a referendum was going to be really close or a more likely no vote in 2017, to say he hasn't the arithmetic to get a full referendum plan enacted.
No way I hope will the voters ever give this man a big overall majority and he has already broken his word on issues, espeically the NHS,so I for one will never believe his sincerity as to an EU referendum.
Just as this MP clearly doesn't too.

"Cameron will need at least"

Its also LibDem and Labour
which is why he will never get enough Total Votes
Utter Waste Of Time.

I think the whole EU issue as raised by David Cameron is another of his big mistakes.
I have never believed he could have deliver a referendum that looked like being close or even lost.

He knows clearly that he will not get an overall majority Govt in 2015 and that even if he did, the majority would be a small one thereby allowing him to say he cannot get the full referendum plan enacted because of the arithemetic of the house of commons.

This move now by this MP could create an even further headache for the PM and in fact, this MP is saying in effect what people are likely thinking too, that the PM cannot be believed on this issue now.

He hoped the EU issue could be a vote winner, it may actually be one of the things that cause him so many problems in the campaign.
Show up even more divisions in the Conservative party as to Europe and end up massively backfiring on him, just like Hagues save the pound crusade did in the 2001 election.
UKIP meanwhile must be rubbing their hands with glee.

You are right in that, however if the PM's integrity as to a referendum is brought into question even more, UKIP can do big damage to the Conservatives in the general election even without winning a single seat.

I hope you will be on here all night of the 2015 election arista, I really am looking forward to your comments as it unfolds,we don't agree on all things but do strongly on some, I always enjoy debating with you though.

I agree I also do not think the Tories can win an outright majority in 2015. I do not think anybody will and if Labour win more seats than the Tories then do not think the Lib dems won't jump into into another Coalition with Labour because they will. In fact they are closer to Labour than the Tories.

One thing though nobody knows at this moment in time how much impact UKIP will have on the results of the 2015 election, maybe the coalition that forms Govt in 2015 may consist of more than two parties....!!!

That would be a first............
