Why the Abi Hate
 

I don't understand the abi hate on here and out of the forum she got a nice voice she Is not one of my favourites but she is a good singer. I just don't see why everybody hates her

Her entire image is a complete fabrication. Forced, contrived "quirkiness". It does my head in.

Oh so she got through did she? I agree with Toy Soldier and her voice is nothing special

She's 'quirky' and her voice is different and that isn't on as we should only have loud, boring voices in the live shows.

I like her voice but most of the other girls had stronger and better voices, Nicole ****ed up imo She should have put Jade or Melanie in over her

Because most people on here like the dull and boring, pretty looking acts who look like every other acts we have had on X Factor before and who are average and will never have a long career. God forbid we have something a bit different on the show. :laugh:

But every year people back so many acts based on looks and how many of them (especially the winners) have actually gone on to do much? It would be nice to have a winner again that actually has an impact and lasts longer than a year. I think Abi has that potential. Quirky is good as it stands out from the rest and Abi is a nice kind of quirky.

It's nothing to do with her looks for me. I think Jade has an equally unique voice but it's stronger

I was surprised Jade didn't make it, she was another of my faves, but Melanie deserved to go home.

I'm just hoping we don't have another male solo winner who vanishes by the time the next series begins.

I like her.

Her voice reminds me a bit of Diana Vickers.

Obviously shes nowhere near as fabulous as Diana was, but I can see her becoming my fave quite early on.

And Melanie was easily the best girl.

And boys do well from the show as well now

I didn't expect to see as much abi hate as I am doing actually. I think people are writing her off already for being a 'one-trick pony' without actually giving her a chance with the different themed weeks. also she hasn't got a big powerful voice like the other girls so I guess it's because she's different.

Who, other than Olly Murs, does well and is still around?

Matt Cardle is still around, Jahmene Dougulas got a #1 album this year.
The only girls that do well atm are Leona & Cher, so it's pretty even

She isn't "different" or "quirky", though!

She's desperate to BE quirky, and so she's contrived to be a non-conformist by conforming to the stereotypical image OF a non-conformist. And then entered The X Factor, of all things.

A walking contradiction. I bet she looked completely different a week before her first audition - in "standard" glasses, jeans and T-shirt, nary a hair-flower in sight. She's about as quirky as a Happy Meal. Completely false image generated to better market an only-OK voice and a piano.

People are always falling for this type of thing, though, so she'll probably do just fine.

I think Melanie should have went through, I would have chosen her, jade and the last girl Nicole put through (can't remember her name)

I'd have replaced Abi with Melanie and kept the other two. None of the others were very good, really. Jade had a very limited range.

1. She can't sing.
2. She deliberately plays herself down I think.
3. I get an arrogant vibe from her.

Another reason I don't like Abi.

I just liked the sound of Jades voice, it sounded a little raspy, I like that

She's this year's Janet Devlin, quirky but ultimately repetitive and dull as all hell.

I think she's probably the least arrogant of all the finalists :conf:. she seems very genuine and down to earth to me.
