These events happened earlier today.....

Right so today I was in the library and there was woman at the computer next to me, she gets out her phone to make a call and talks REALLY LOUDLY to somebody from some organisation, telling them she has won this award (?) and wants them to publicize it, she went on and on and on.... really loud! Full of her own self importance.

Everyone was looking at each other and rolling their eyes, it was ridiculous, and also annoying :nono:

A staff member came over and asked her to stop, or take her call outside, the woman put up the flat of her hand in the staff members face and turned her back on her to carry on the call. The staff member walked away.

I (being the hotheaded cow that I am) said 'you've been asked to stop it, you are really ignorant.'

She gave me daggers but carried on, saying to the person on the phone 'sorry, I am being asked to be quiet in a library, yet they have screaming kids in here all the time (this is blatantly untrue, they are strict in the library, except when mum and toddler group is on, and for gods sake babies are gonna scream a bit) so I tutted at her.

Next thing, she has picked up two sheets of A4 paper and shoves them in my face, the corner of one of them poked me in the eye so I put my hand up to take hold of them as an instinctive reaction. My eye was watering. She let go of them and I lost my rag completely and ripped them right across (in half) and threw them on the desk.

She jumped up and she shouted 'that's my award and promo photograph, I am gonna pop you' (try not to laugh, looool) and went to punch me with her hand in a fist. I dodged it and security came and took her to the office, then after a bit the manager came to talk to me and said she has gone to the Police Station to report you for criminal damage!!

So now I am anxious as to what is going to happen? :bawling:

no, my eye still feels a bit watery, but it's alright, I'd have included it otherwise, but I am worried because the papers were important and official.

can i just say that this fight is so british, it would never make it on worldstar. the america version of this fight would be someone holding a baby down and cutting it's eye with a razor blade.

Put it another way - some woman was being obnoxious in a library, tried to assault you and then security dragged her away and she claimed she was going to get the police involved. Everyone in the library will have seen she was in the wrong, I wouldn't worry about it at all!

can she seriously go to the police and cite criminal damage, will they take her seriously?

Why not just go to the police and make a counter charge of assault to the endangerment of your sight?
