... and this Govt sits back and just allows it too,no major criticism whatsoever.
It is clear where their priorities lie, with the energy companies not the customers. They are all just plain greedy and it is time a firm clamp was put on the energy companies. Admittedly this rise was planned a fair while ago but it doesn't make it any easier for customers knowing that and there is always a rise when the winter months approach. More scheming from the energy companies,a total disgrace. |

What can they Do Shoot the CEO? |

That has nothing to do with it. What are you a Communist? |
Not true.. not rushed at all
Most energy companies announced hikes of at least 8% BEFORE the Labour conference. And it is legitimate to suggest government interjection as the have in the rail hikes? |

10% of every Energy Bill to every Customer
goes to the Gov. On SkyNewsHD they debated it with the minster & the SSE CEO said not everyone should pay that 10% Its a clip from this morning, they keep showing it, with Eamon Holmes |

Yes it hits some hard though |
If the government are really committed to helping people deal with their fuel bill, put zero duty on it would be a start.

As I said in teh blackout thread..that was leading to this
Threats of blackouts followed by a price hike. Predictable Greedy bastards |
My heart bleeds for them, their bonuses and 6fig salaries.

Sometime, this blaming labour for everything has to stop. |

Yes but I am sure on tonight BBC1 Question Time someone will bring up Ed Miliband who was the Energy Minister under Brown and never helped anyone then in 2009 |
Didn't help anyone?... he was all for renewable energy and still is for a more competitive market.
Labour introduced welfare, didn't have any qualms changing that did they? |

Kizzy many are talking about him as New Labour Energy Minister not the whole New Labour crap |
I know what 'many' are saying and it's rubbish...
The hikes were announced prior to the Labour leaders speech. He was instrumental in the renewable energy Act which identifies the decarbonisation of Britain by 2030 as a target. What's the issue? If it costs each person £125 so what.... What's the alternative, being held to ransom each winter? |
Yes but New Labour let prices go up
in their last 2 years |
And? Saying it went up under labour does not mean it has to continue going up.
This 'but its labours fault' argument is just stupidity. As kizzy said earlier, labour put welfare benefits in place and such..yet the tories have no problem chopping away at those. They have no problem changing other stuff that labour did. So blaming labour for current price hikes just because they went up for 2 years under labour years back is ridiculous |

I wouldn't mind price rises when the cost of stuff goes up, IF they went back down when the costs were lower. But it doesnt work like that, its just up and up and up, and neverending profits for fatcats.
|
Yes but you're not meant to question that....
The government still get 10% of your bill and VAT and whatever other kickbacks for being so 'hands off' thankyou very much so put up and shut up seems to be the message, but as said why the cry of 'marxism' when asked to intervene? |
