-   -   Josh Hutcherson: 'I'm mostly straight, but who knows?' (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238903)

Josh Hutcherson: 'I'm mostly straight, but who knows?'

"I would probably list myself as mostly straight," he said.

"Maybe I could say right now I'm 100% straight. But who knows? In a ******ing year, I could meet a guy (me ) and be like, 'Whoa, I'm attracted to this person'."

He continued: "I've met guys all the time that I'm like, 'Damn, that's a good-looking guy', you know?

"I've never been, like, 'Oh, I want to kiss that guy'. I really love women. But I think defining yourself as 100% anything is kind of near-sighted and close-minded."

Hutcherson is the founder of youth organisation Straight But Not Narrow, which aims to tackle homophobia.

"Sometimes it's frustrating to comprehend how people are not okay with it," he said of homosexuality. "If you can try to tell me how it's hurting you, you're crazy. You're absolutely crazy. Like, what do you mean it's not natural?

"Even if - even if, which, I disagree, but even if - why the ****** do you care?"

"It'd just be a non-issue, like, 'Which one is a good person? Which one makes you laugh more?'"

If people don't hate him and whiny ******ing Peeta by the end of the HG, I'll be amazed.

smudgie 10-10-2013 04:49 PM

If it is such a none issue..why is he making an issue of it?

Josy 10-10-2013 04:51 PM

Oh so that's who he is, saw him mentioned on the forum a few times today and didn't have a clue who the hell it was.

Benjamin 10-10-2013 05:14 PM

Because some other people think it's an issue and homophobia still exists? It actually isn't an issue but some people think it is so until those who don't think it's an issue drill it into the people that do's ****ing brainless, judgemental heads that it isn't, the problem isn't going to go away. If that made any sense...

Also I have no idea who this dude is but do people actually find him attractive? wut

Shaun 10-10-2013 05:29 PM

I don't really get why people who'd identify as somewhere inbetween don't just call themselves bisexual... bisexuality has such a stigma about it, from both heterosexuals and homosexuals. It's saddening.

Jack_ 10-10-2013 05:31 PM

^ I agree but I'd say based on what he's said himself he's bicurious, not bisexual. If you were actually bisexual you'd know for sure that you were up for ****ing both, curious is just open to the potential possibility if it were to somehow arise in the future

Shaun 10-10-2013 05:34 PM

True, but I don't really understand "curiosity" either. If you fantasize about something you're pretty much there... this experimental phase that teens go through should be private and acted upon, not theoretical and just preached about by celebrities.

Samm 10-10-2013 05:34 PM

I'm bisexual my self I do agree with Shaun

I agree with the last part, but to me there's a distinction to be made between being open minded enough to consider experimenting, and actually being attracted to a certain gender, or sexually related thing. An example could be being someone that is on the whole largely attracted to women of a certain size (in this case let's say model-like thin), but being open to the idea of having an experience with an obese woman.

I know we're now getting into sexual fetishes but I think there's certain types of people that are open to experimentation and have a 'may as well try everything once' mindset, but I don't necessarily think that makes them attracted to the things or people they wish to experiment with, they just have an open minded attitude to life, if that makes sense. In fact if anything in that situation it would be a 'let's have an experience with someone or something that I'm not attracted to at all to see what it's like'.

It's basically just remaining open minded and not totally crossing the idea out of ever falling for a guy (also there's a serious separate point to be made here, some people would argue that to them falling in love could outweigh their standard sexuality, I know that's an alien concept to most people but it is possible), admitting that he can appreciate that some guys are good looking

Also that he's open to experimenting in the future and has a 'you never know until you try it' attitude to life, and as I've just explained I don't believe that would necessarily mean you are actually attracted to certain things or people you wish to experiment with. I guess it would be like being brought up a vegetarian having never eaten meat and wanting to stay that way, but thinking 'I'm going to eat a bit of this steak just so I know what it's actually like', doesn't mean you endorse it, you just want to have experienced it.

Some people are open enough to the idea of being experimental in life and others aren't, I guess it depends on the person. I don't believe it affects your sexuality either way though

Also @ MM&I, I've heard his name I just don't know who he actually is
