Windows 8.1: Who's installing?

As the new update is rolled out to Windows 8 users for free, a lot of people will be updating. Are you?

I am updating, but i'm a little bit scared that i'm gonna cock it up and make my pc into a very large paperweight.

Jarrod 17-10-2013 05:00 PM

I still have Windows 7 and really don't plan on upgrading.

8.1 was mainly done because people wer angry that there wasn't a start button. They should of done it in the first place!

I'm happy that in a couple of hours I will have a start button.

Also, W7 users who want W8.1 Will have to pay, it's only free to W8 users.

Ramsay 17-10-2013 05:12 PM

-actually likes W8-
Once i got used to it anyway

MTVN 17-10-2013 05:13 PM

People who are happy with Windows 7 should not go anywhere near Windows 8. Windows 8 is designed for the smart phone users out there to feel at home.

A good rule of thumb with Windows is to skip a year. So if you have 7 wait for 9.

Yes fingers, but there is new lloks to apps, major upgrades, tweaks, fixes, etc. so you can update it for more than that. What you're literally saying is the equivalent to "Oh i don't want to download iOS7 for my iPhone, I can just jailbreak it and make it look like it instead"

I'm NOT literally saying anything of the kind.
If all you want is the Start Button back, several Apps can do that.

BTW I wouldn't have anything Apple even as a gift.
