What kind of Ska are we talking here The Specials or Reel Big Fish/Streetlight Manifesto

I'm going to download some stuff tonight actually, I go to a few Ska gigs at local pubs and I really enjoy it, a mix of anything really, wanted this thread to give me some good stuff to listen to so anything you suggest really Nathan

It depends, Nathan would probably be able to explain it better, it has a reggae influence a lot of the time and hit here during the 70's/80's, and then you have Ska(ish) bands like Madness and The Specials

It is reggae mixed with punk ish

and lots of trumpets

Early Ska is some of the best music ever made

I'm gonna download the best compliation I can find now

No Doubt is the only ska band i know.

Ska...a great mix of reggae and 2 tone.
I remember it well...

When I was about 11, was when the 2Tone Ska revival started. There was Madness, The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat, The Lambrettas, Bad Manners etc. I had a fishtail parka which was about 3 sizes too big for me. :laugh:

Okay I've downloaded 3 albums so far :D

Lily Allen's debut album was very much ska influenced...:idc:
