American College Sports Discussion Thread

I figured why not? American Football is underway with the most confusing system to decide the champions and Basketball is about to start soon.

Alabama is unsurprisingly the frontrunner again, Florida State, Baylor are among those who could stop them this year.

In Basketball, Louisville is getting ready to defend their title. Oh and the guy that broke his leg in the NCAA Tournament (Which is like a Champions League) is back to 100% and will be starting for them.

Iowa State (My school) is horrid this year in Football, but Basketball should be awesome. There's a huge game happening next month against Michigan in Hilton Colisuem.

Alabama is dominating again in Football, their next huge test will be against Auburn and it's a "derby".

Got kinda ugly at one point, a Bama fan poisoned some of the oak trees on Auburn's campus and bragged about it on a Bama sports talk show. Both sides weren't happy at all that he did that, guy is in jail now. Trees are dead but they're still up.

All hope is lost for Iowa State football this year, still haven't won a conference game, biggest chance of them winning one is against Kansas.

At least there is Basketball Season, Iowa State beat Michigan on Sunday and got #21 in the AP Poll because of it. Should be an amazing year

Poisoning campus oak trees is a bit of a random form of sabotage

The most insane play happened between Auburn and Alabama. I'm serious.

game is tied with 0:01 left in regulation, Alabama has the ball and decides to kick a 56 Yard FG to end the game. But the Bama kicker didn't put enough ump into it and a Auburn player catches it in the endzone (Which is perfectly legal), And through some miracle The Auburn player runs it in for a TD to end the game and win it for Auburn

I just saw it on ESPN, quite impressive.. but the Americans on my twitter are going mental like its the best thing in sport they've ever seen, we see stuff like this every weekend in football

I love Alabama, but kicking has been a problem for them all year and its finally bit them in the ass.

As much as I hate Michigan States they need to beat Ohio State in the Big Ten title game, I can not take those dickhead goons coming anywhere near a National Title

BBfanUSA 01-12-2013 03:17 AM

Hey IDC who's in the National Championship game as long as it's SEC free so if Ohio State is in it. I'm good. You're a Michigan fan anyway so I know why you don't want to see Ohio State in the national championship game.

If it wasn't for that wacky ending, Iowa State vs W.Va would've been the game of the night. Iowa State came back from 17 points behind to tying it with 1 min left in regulation, then Iowa State scored in the 3rd OT and then scored a TD then made a 2 point conversion

But who cares I'm in basketball mode, Oklahoma State and Kansas either lost or nearly lost. Iowa State was this close to being the top ranked team in the Big 12 at least for a little bit :(

Oh and Roy, How about that Hilton Magic?

Looking forwards to all the Bowl Games BBfUSA - even if slightly annoyed that not got enuf time to understand the 37 divisions/championships! It has become my new tradition to learn alll!

Still suks compared to NFL Europe which was a step above and needed 2 feet inbounds for a completion as far back as 1998......but hey, you canned the league and sent us the shoite International Series instead to kill the game for Europeans!

Every year you increase the pain by sending worser (is that a word?) and worser teams to Engerland.

In the UK you have to just pick a team to follow and mine is

The Bowl Games have been selected

The national championship will be contested between Florida State and Auburn

This is the last year of the BCS Championship so hopefully it ends with the OVERRATED SEC being embarrassed for once

BBfanUSA 06-01-2014 02:03 AM

The National Championship will be contested tomorrow/today. I pick Florida State to win the final BCS Football Championship.

BBfanUSA 07-01-2014 12:36 AM

The American Football national college champion is being decided right now.

Game should be on ESPN America. But this is a guess.

They have multiple options called a Megacast overhere, the main booth team on ESPN, Two alternate channels with analysts on ESPNU and ESPN2, and ESPN Classic has a feed with no commentary whatsoever.
