Do you feel comfortable walking alone when it's dark?

Are you a paranoid person convinced everyone's out to get you or do you not even think twice about walking alone at night?

King Gizzard 05-11-2013 12:11 AM

Think anyone would feel petrified in pitch black dark, but as in streetlights dark, I'm alright

Jack_ 05-11-2013 12:14 AM

Depends on the time of night and if I'm drunk or not

Before 10pm and sober...yeah that's fine, after midnight and sober...never, after midnight and drunk, well I at least have the courage to get on with it whereas if I were sober I would just point blank refuse, but if anything it makes me more paranoid and I rush to wherever I need to go

MTVN 05-11-2013 12:15 AM

Yeah I'm alright with it, quite often am out alone at night in the early hours, that's not to say I don't wonder if everyone I pass might be a mugger or a murdering psychopath but I take my chances that they're probably not

Brother Leon 05-11-2013 12:23 AM

Yeah, I'm cool with it. Just put your hood up and listen to some music through headphones and you are at the destination in no time anyway.

Then you just run to your destination...get there even quicker. :idc:

I am scared to go outside at night, especially alone, I live in quite a dangerous area and a few weeks ago someone pulled out a gun at a petrol station I was buying milk in at dusk, also got followed by a dodgy guy in Tesco recently, so it has been extreme since then, so I am scared to go out alone even if there's visibility, latest I'd say is around 6pm these days.

Nemo123 05-11-2013 04:37 AM

Nathan, were you on Come Dine with me?

thesheriff443 05-11-2013 06:15 AM

Yes, in the city though

If I lived in those rural parts of the country you usually go for secondary school residentials then no ****ing way

Shaun 05-11-2013 06:56 AM

Generally yes - I used to go for walks in the middle of the night every night around 2008/2009.

Arista getting ready for a long hard day on the forums. With Niamh in his basement.

Up till about 10 maybe, I used to be invincible... (when drunk) but not now haha!

joeysteele 05-11-2013 07:55 AM

It doesn't bother me. I have to admit I feel more unsure if I see any groupings of others.

I have lived in both and there is much less chance of anything happening in the countryside. (But I suppose there is also less chance of help if something does happen, lol).

I sometimes take walks at 3am and have done for years so walking alone in the dark, even when it is pitch black through the countryside doesn't bother me. I find it kind of exciting and gets my imagination pumping.

Vanessa 05-11-2013 08:19 AM

Before it didn't bother me, but now i can't. I get scared. :(

Jake. 05-11-2013 08:29 AM

I'm fine with it, I quite often stumble home drunk at 4am

Firstly why are you drinking at your age, secondly 4am is well past your bedtime. Children these days.

Cherie 05-11-2013 09:51 AM

Depends on the time, would have no problem walking around in the dark up to around 10pm, after that I would probably take a taxi.

Niamh. 05-11-2013 09:52 AM

Oh God, I can't even remember the last time I walked anywhere alone in the dark. I wouldn't feel very comfortable about it no
