Why do you think Nicholas's performances have been really dull so far?

Is it solely down to himself? Bad song choices? Or a mix of both? I personally think it might be a mix of both as while his not ever going to be mr excitement, I do think his struggling more because he can't connect with songs that are 40 years older than himself.

Vanessa 08-11-2013 09:51 PM

He's just really boring and dull.

Marc 08-11-2013 09:54 PM

He'll win. Yay

Vanessa 08-11-2013 09:55 PM

I hope not! He has no stage presence or charisma whatsoever.

reece(: 08-11-2013 10:13 PM

Because he's a dull stage presence with a boring voice.

Josy 08-11-2013 10:14 PM

No I think his perfomances have been great.

joeysteele 08-11-2013 10:15 PM

I do like Nicholas but I agree in part with all the comments above, he has absolutely very little charisma and personality as to entertainment value, that is why the X Factor should not just be about the voice, the X Factor should be made up of many elements as to entertainment value overall.

I think he has also been given safe and predictable songs that he can easily sing but which require little done to them and he hasn't really altered any of the songs he has sang in a way of putting his own mark on them, despite the judges glowing comments every week.

Having said all that, I can see him raking in the votes of all ages who may be watching X Factor and thereby winning this series easily, it has shades of Leon Jackson in the year he won as to song choices and I do think that format could well win this series for him.

Marc 08-11-2013 10:15 PM

He's a really funny guy behind the scenes. Seems very down to earth. Nothing like that boring bitch Tamera ha2

You take that back

Jordan. 08-11-2013 10:17 PM

I don't remember any of his performances

joeysteele 08-11-2013 10:18 PM

However if Josy likes him then he must have something as to great talent,Josy generally knows good talent.

what a weird way to have an opinion

Anyway, I thought Nicholas was great up until the live shows where his performances have been dated & he has lacked stage presence and personality in the performances. Before the lives you could see he really wanted it, and is judges houses performance was really good. Maybe Louis has ruined him

Now with his song choices & the way he stands there, he is just appealing to the nans & middle aged women, his stage presence reminds me of Rebecca Ferguson's, he'll make the final, and my mother who loved both likes him, but to win I think he might need to go back to his more interesting performances

Marc 08-11-2013 10:38 PM

He knows he's topping the votes. Boy is relaxed

MeMyselfAndI 08-11-2013 10:39 PM

Sam Bailey is rightfully topping the votes (except Week 2 that Nicholas got)

King Gizzard 08-11-2013 10:56 PM

Because he is just a singer, he has no genre or niche

Vanessa 08-11-2013 11:15 PM

But you need to perform the song and Nicholas doesn't do that.

Mystic Mock 09-11-2013 12:18 AM

Exactly Vanessa, and every singer needs a genre because who's gonna buy their Music otherwise? Nicholas will need to find his niche soon otherwise he will flop in the charts.

Jemal 09-11-2013 07:25 AM

Nicholas will probably win... Release his Christmas single and go back into education.

Samm 09-11-2013 09:59 AM

because he's dull

Benji_ 09-11-2013 10:24 AM

Louis.

That depends on whether you prefer to listen to a good voice or some teeny-bopper prancing around the stage thinking he is the next 'big thing'. I know which anyone with good taste prefers.

Stage presence will come with experience. Being 'hot' and prancing around the stage does not equal stage presence, not to mention has a very short life expectancy.

Sorry, but if you think Sam C is actually talented - then yes my opinion is better than yours - the facts speak for themselves. :joker:
