Could a talented yet pretty AND "sexy " young female ever win?
 

I know everyone finds different types sexy but some female artists make sexiness part of their image and refused to hide sexuality. Over the years nice sweet attractive but nonthreatening young things have won X factor or done well enough eg Rebecca Ferguson, Alexandra Burke, Staey SOloman, Leona Lewis, and early Diana Vickers (pre FHM).

Yet the charts now are an arms war with female nudity, fake lesbianism, twerking, instagramming vaginas, sexy photoshoots and bragging about how much you love sex ala Miley, Rihanna, Iggy Azealia, Katy Perry and Gaga. Even Ellie Goulding has changed from her wholesome fragile girl next door image to wearing revealing outfits.

Oh wait I read it, nope they wont win singing in their underwear or anything, It's a family show and the majority of the voters are like older women

I for one support this change.

I get impression Leona -whilst undeniably beautiful - is not regarded in the main as sexy (like catherine jenkins), too timid and not brash. Loads of people have said " she's pretty but unsexy, or not kind of girl you fantasise sleeping with". She was rarely in 100 Sexiest women lists during her hey day, and never did a racey shoot that would sex her up.

But guys can be "sexy". Not a fan of the following but they all did "sexy " routines or showed sexuality and got love sick females going crazy: Chico, 1Direction, Olly Murs (compare with choir boy Joe McElderry), Jamie Archer and now Sam C

She has placed in FHM sexiest woman three times

Rihanna has been placed every year - and are contemporaries.

But none of them won either :shrug:

And I think Alex Burke was quite sexy sometimes..especially when she did that candyman (?) dance

Olly Murs could have won if in boys category. Still pissed about that. Sexy sexy girls get voted out early. In the first series there were quite a few saucy girl band who looked like glamour model (think one group was mainly lap dancers and lsds mag fodder)... we all knew they'd be out week one. :joker: Since then the girls and girl groups have definitely toned down the sex, almost asexual, and tried to be female friendly non threatening girl next doors

I think all 4 of Little mix are quite sexy but I agree with the others, and tbh I dont think I'd be comfortable if some ho won it.

They are cute but I think "aww bless" or " they look like fun girls", hardly the stuff of envy :joker: I even like Perry and she's engaged to the only hot looking one in 1D. Little Mix are no Kandy Rain who every female viewer - including me - hated as they were very sexy.:joker:

Not sure about "ho" but what if Rihanna Katy Perry or Miley had been on X Factor they'd never win and yet they are amongst the most suceesful and relevant female artists around. Being sexy is very important toa female artist now, it generates cheap / free publicity for a single or album campaign.

Wrecking Ball's success isn't purely down to whatever the quality of song is imo, alot of it is down to Miley courting post VMA twerking controversy, drug boasts, rows with Sinead o conner and most importantly being nude in video thus generating YouTube hits and therefore people growing to love the song rapidly after seeing vid. If Celine Deon ( or as winner Sam B), Barbera Streisand, or Leona Lewis had sung this I doubt it would have the same attention impact or sales. Sex sells more now than ever.

Yep Alexandra Burke annoys too many people to be regarded as a sex symbol. Also as I discussed yesterday, sadly a black darker skinned woman is now seen as niche in terms of being attractive or sexy.

She definitely had that "public school girl up for anything" vibe. And SOMETHING must have happened to make little Yoghurt Quinn so obsessed with her that he ran onto the stage crying when she was voted off. My money would be on "first handjob". What a hussy.
